I was wondering if there were ways to increase your Effective Caster level with a magic item or feat other then Prestigious spellcaster. The build I am playing around with is a Pally 2/Sorc 4/ DD 4/ EK 10. At level 20 I am sitting at BaB +16 ECL(sorcerer) 16. This gives me only level 8 spells I was hoping for level 9. I could run Prestigious spellcaster at the cost of 2 feats but since I can only pick one favored prestige class I can only gain one level in sorcerer and I would need atleast 2 to get level 9 spells. Thanks in advanced.

Alright thanks for the clarification. I suppose the only thing i can do is see if my GM is willing to let me use Prestigious Spellcaster on 2 different prestige classes bypassing the requirement of Favored prestige class for one of them. It sucks that as RAW it limits you to just one PrC with that feat with no alternative options.

The only alternative that I am aware of for what you want (9th level spells) (which by the way is not an increase in caster level - increasing your caster level only makes the spells you have more effective, not gives you more spells to cast), is in the Inner Sea Magic book, the rules for magic guilds on pg 22 - Eclectic and Esoteric Training specifically. Many GM's are not comfortable with those rules, so discuss with your GM before implementing...

The half elf feat Multitalented Mastery treats ALL classes as favored classes, which presumably includes Prestige classes. This would allow you to take Prestigious if that's the case.

FWIW, I'm seeing a BAB of +17 on that build.
Paladin 2
Sorcerer 2
Drag Disc 3
EldKnight 10
Total 17
Another alternative is to take the Prestigious Spellcaster once and sacrifice a level of Paladin to add another level in sorcerer. Gets you the BAB +16, 9th level spell access, but you lose Divine Grace which I'm guessing is why you dipped for Paladin instead of a different martial.
