heirloom weapon

Rules Questions

does heirloom weapon gives me proficiency with that type of weapon: say like heirloom weapon with a scimitar, does it gives me proficiency with all scimitars or only that specific scimitar?

Just that specific scimitar.

"When you select this trait, choose one of the following benefits: proficiency with that specific weapon..."

Weird? Yes. "I know how to stab people with great-granddaddy's sword, but hand me a virtually identical sword that a smith just forged and I'm at a loss." But so it goes.

darn it suxs, thank you

Well, I'd imagine it's that specific weapon, as in the Heirloom weapon, and not the type.

Otherwise, it would be as good as a feat.

I got super ninjaed. *sadness*

There's Arodenite Sword Training that grants you proficiency with the longsword.

You might also be able to talk your GM into bending the rules. When I run the Heirloom Weapon trait, I'm usually open to giving proficiency in that weapon in general, since there's already a trait that does that for longswords. But different people prefer different things.

ok thank you all

If it's a weapon your character likes, go for it. You can get masterwork transformation cast on it for a little more then the cost of a masterwork weapon, then have it enchanted later.
