So, the Concordance of Elements and Paladins

Pathfinder Society

Shadow Lodge 1/5

Once played a Lantern Lodge Paladin and she fit brilliantly without issues. Know some other factions Paladins would not fit well. Any take on how Paladin friendly is this faction yet?

Grand Lodge 4/5

We haven't seen their requests as a PFS faction yet, but from their appearances in Season 8, I don't see they will be incompatible with a paladin's code and in fact their opposition tends towards evil, chaos and widespread harm. edit: They may not be easily smiteable, though, and characters may have to deal on a friendly basis with efreeti and Guaril Karela's side of the Exchange. It could be an interesting challenge for a more knowledgeable and thoughtful paladin.

I tried to think of which Faction wasn't a good fit for Paladins, and it took me a while. I guess Liberty's Edge?

The Scarab Sages haven't always been comfortable for paladins, nor for Pharasmins. The Exchange has at best little in common with them.

Ah. Maybe that's one OOC reason why Scarab Sages is going away. Less inclusive to all character options.

(funny enough, all three of my Pharasmins are Scarab Sages... Guess it's a good time to rectify that)

Exchange seems fine to me. I get a chuckle every time I meet a Paladin of Abadar. Sczarni, on the other hand...

I have Paladin of Sarenrae in The Exchange (came over from Qadira with the change). It's been fine. I stick to the legitimate business side of things.

[Redacted] from a boon is NG and could work for a Paladin. Personally, I'm hoping the Concordance is a good fit for nature based characters. They've been mostly left out up until now.

I think a large part of Scarab Sages being retired (EDIT: inactivated) is that Osirion/Scarab Sages got a lot of attention for a few years. Just like Shadow Lodge and Lantern Lodge were the focus of a couple of seasons.

In theory the Concordance would be aiming for True Neutral, but they've recently decided that they've been propping up a Neutral Evil regime for a long time and that balance is best served by aiding Good for the foreseeable future.

So I would expect that generally their missions would be indifferent or happy for paladins.

It's worth pointing out that because we don't have "faction missions" any more, you can accomplish the goals on your faction card in a LG way in most cases. My paladin in the Dark Archive recruits scholars by asking nicely (diplomacy) and studies extraplanar creatures in order to know how to defeat demons, devils, and the like.

Second Seekers (Roheas) 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 *****

They have a commitment to neutrality that is similar to the Pathfinder Society.

They are an excellent fit for Monks. That said, Lysianassa and Ranginori (if you have played the adventure that gives you access to him as a Deity) would make excellent patrons for a Concordance Paladin.

Its not as bad a fit as the dark archives, but its not the best fit either.

Is Lysianassa a legal deity? As far as I knew, she was still sealed in the Garnet Brand (or the Gasping Pearl - it's a little ambiguous).

I don't think she's legal, and Ranginori still has very limited access. But I think he'd be pretty cool for a paladin if you do have that boon.

I wish Lysianassa was legal.

My Undine Cleric of Kelizandri went through a scenario where, well, let's just say he didn't want to worship her anymore after the scenario concluded.

I wanted to still keep him worshipping a water themed deity, and Hanspur was really the best alternative (but had Lysianassa been legal, it would have been the perfect switch).

A bunch of Prestige later, he now worships the River Rat.

It would be amazing if the Concordance in game goals led to freeing her.

Where can we get more info on this faction?

There is supposed to be a new Roleplaying Guild Guide at some point, which will have more information. The upcoming scenario 9-14: Down the Verdant Path is supposed to feature the faction. There are also several season 8 scenarios that feature the organization The Concordance of Elements, though it remains to be seen if the faction will have any differences in goals from the larger organization.

After putting some thought into a paladin character earlier, I think she might end up being a member of the Concordance. For a former Mendevian Crusader who lost her sight and many of her memories to a shadow demon in the Worldwound, a faction with a focus on ending extraplanar incursions might sound rather tempting. ^_^

Has anyone heard anything about when we'll get more information on the Concordance? The first of their faction-related scenarios is dropping tomorrow and no one can join the faction yet... it's sort of awkward.

Sovereign Court 3/5

Hopefully the site downtime today includes and updated guild guide, that or the chronicle for that adventure will include details to get us started.

I would not be surprised if that update is part of the scheduled downtime maintenance today. If we're lucky, it'll also include Additional Resources and Campaign Clarifications updates.

I have a level 13 Paladin in the Dark Archive, her core version is also there and it has never been a problem (though I plainly ignored on faction mission in the Disappeared, that had more to do with Shelyn than being a paladin).
Quite a number of factions can work for all classes depending on the character.

I am intending for my first Concordance character to be a paladin of Ranginori since I do have the aforementioned boon. Looking forward to perusing the new content in order to help flesh out my concept.

I haven't decided whether to switch my Elemental Ally druid over. It would be a great fit, but he's been pretty happy in the Exchange.

I have a Catfolk Pearl Seeker Paladin of Ranginori who I'm certain will be an excellent addition to the Concordance! She wants to free the rest of the elemental lords! I wrote a little player companion for her here

It will be painful to lose her completed Dark Archive card, though. I wonder how Zarta removes her UMD class skill? Probably hires a Caulborn.

You know I thought I saw Lysianassa statted out in Aquatic Adventures and she was but....not enough to be a valid deity by the looks of things.
