Green Man legal?

Rules Questions

Is this playable by PCS playing a Wild Shaped Druid in plant form? Or is it banned?

It is not legal in PFS as per the additional resources entry. For a home game ask your GM.

See this thread.

RAW it works though, though you don't get the vines and thorns

I say RAI, no. So ask your GM/expect table variation.

Oh hey, another one of these. It's been what, a whole month since the last one? That's got to be a record of some kind.

Anyway, the general consensus of the boards seems to be, "You shouldn't be able to, but by RAW you can."

I think just as a general rule, any time a specific choice for something is vastly, absurdly, and unreasonably better than literally all the other choices- you probably shouldn't expect to be able to do it unless you clear it with your GM first.

There are almost 0 instances in which you could take it without having it be banned.

I say almost because some of the posters here go pretty high power in their stuff.

It's not that bad actually, RAW you only get what plant shape x gives you. And the thorns and vines are special abilities of Green Man so you end up getting

1. Darkvision
2. Low-light vision
3. Two slams at 1d8+STR
4. Able to spellcast if you have Schew Materials and/ or Natural Spell feats.
5. Ability score adjustments and other resistances granted to a medium size plant creature by spell. I.e. Resist electricity 20 when plant shape II and DR 15/Slashing when plant shape III
6. +10 to disguise checks
7. Equipment melded because you still transform into a plant form and it doesn't matter the humanlike appearance (no armor and shield bonuses), I'd allow to retain the weapon.

Ya that's not that great at all. I think i'd pass on this form.

You might be able to spellcast without Natural spell simply because of the form though.
