I've experienced skunks. I have friends who have had canine companions who do not understand that if they mess with that thing they'll get sprayed.
I know how overpowering and horrible a smell it is.
I was utterly shocked at how low the DC was.
DC 11?
That has wolves beating it over 50% of the time.
Wolves are a common predator for skunks.
It even states in the description that animals avoid them.
Also, there should be some extra long-term problem from being sprayed, making it hard to be stealthy and making the rest of your group hate you.

I have not experienced skunks. For some reason no one thought it was a good idea to import them to NZ. But it seems to me there needs to be room for improvement for the wide range of magical creatures in PF, and a low save DC prevents platoons of trained or charmed skunks being a thing.
Re wolves vs. skunks - if wolves are a predator for skunks and not vice versa, the wolf needs to not be nauseated > 50% of the time.

Well in game terms, you'd be a level 1 commoner most likely.
The thing is that skunk's musk is quite powerful in game terms as it has an effect even if they save. Think of it as the difference between getting a full blast and just catching the edge of it.
That has wolves beating it over 50% of the time.
Which means they 'only' gets sickened for 1d4 rounds instead of nauseated for 1d4 rounds and then sickened for 1d4 minutes. There isn't an ending for that wolf that doesn't end with sickened which is why they are bright enough to just go find a rabbit instead.

Pathfinder really isn't a good game if you want a decent simulation of reality. This is especially true for animals.
Note : The above is not a complaint. I don't really want my high fantasy wizard disabled by a skunk. And druids are powerful enough as it is, lets NOT let them summon realistic skunks :-)

Pathfinder has a weird problem with little animals that cause big problems. For instance, there's no such thing as a teensy little poison dart frog in Pathfinder. The poisonous frogs weigh like 10 lbs, and their poison is DC 10. I think this is so no clever adventurers don't get the bright idea to start a frog farm or something.
Huh. Even then, you could stick this foot-long problem into a familiar satchel, except they can't be familiars.
