need input on Horizon walker Build

Advice

I am planning to play a Horizon walker and need to know what should be my Base class.

The Build is Design to get sneak attack easily and Be like a dual wielding swordsmen type character

The idea is a wandering swordsmen and so I am debating between

Slayer(6)/H-W(10)/Slayer(10) Or Unchained Rogue(6)/H-w(10)/Unchained Rogue(4)

I plan to dual wield wakazashi and use the Dimensional Feats to activate Sneak attack.

Silver Crusade

I'm currently playing a 14th level Horizon Walker in The Crimson Throne AP.

One thing you should keep in mind is that the Horizon Walker is hideously effective when his Terrain Dominance come into play but is subpar when compared to other martials (at least ones using recent shenanigans) when they don't. There has been a LOT of Power Creep since Horizon Walker and it shows.

One aside - I presume that you know that the old trick (still referenced in some guides) of taking stacking Favoured Terrain through Rogue Talents was nerfed quite a few years back?

The best build is going to depend hugely on
1) Levels you'll actually be playing at
2) How often you'll be in a Terrain you have dominance for.
3) The usual things that restrict sneak attack.

I personally found that I wanted to both be able to do TWF for those times when it was possible AND my favoured enemy was high enough to make it not a trap AND I wanted to be able to do lots of damage with a single two handed weapon.

Keep your BAB up, have Power Attack with a two handed weapon as an option.

I went for versatility over raw power. Partly for roleplaying reasons I also went Thunder and Fang.

So. my build was
Ranger (Divine Tracker) 4/Cavalier (Mother's Fang/Gendarme) 1/Monk (Far Strike) 1

Quick draw was very useful (he carries LOTS of Klars :-)) so I could switch from 2 handed fighting to two weapon fighting at the drop of a Klar. At earlier levels I used ranged attacks with bolas on occassion. I chose Urban as my first dominant terrain since I REALLY wanted those favoured enemy bonuses more than the dimensional feats.

Slayer as it can bypass Dex requirements and does not solely depend on sneak attack damage.

I recommend Slayer 7 for the swift study target.

Hardly do campaigns go to 20 and you have so many requests here and on FB page for different character builds that it seems you are not finishing campaigns. Is this for a High-level campaign already or a 1 shot? Or do you plan to play from Level 1?

I would avoid Wakazashis which require a feat on an already feat-intensive build. I would use Kukris which have the same critical rating.

Here is a build to Gleen off if you see something you like.

Slayer 7/Horizon Walker 3/Evangelist 10

Half-Orc 20 point buy:

Str: 17, Dex: 13, Con: 14, Int: 10, Wis: 14, Cha: 10
(Level 4 +1 Str, Level 8 +1 Dex, Everything else is +1 STR)

Alternative Racial traits:
Sacred Tattoo- +1 Luck to all 3 saves
Shaman's Apprentice- Endurance as a Feat (Pre-req for HW)

Traits:
Reactionary
Fate's Favored

Feats:
1: Power Attack
3: Weapon Focus
5: Iron Will
7: Deific Obedience - Iomedae
Horizon Walker 3
9: Improved Critical
Evangelist 10
11: Dimensional Agility
13: Dimensional Assault
15: Dimensional Dervish
17: Dimensional Savant
19: Accomplished Sneak Attacker

Talents:
2: (Ranger Feat): TWF
4: Trapfinding
6: (Ranger Feat): Improved TWF
11:(counts as Level 8 Slayer) Slowing Strike* (Ex)
13:(counts as Level 10 Slayer) Ranger bonus Feat: Two-Weapon Rend
15: Assassinate (Ex)
17: Advanced Rogue Talent Opportunist (Ex)
20: Deadly Sneak (Ex)

What does evangelist give you?
1/Day Heroism
3/Day Protection from Evil/Chaos
3/Day 1 minute increment of Holy Weapon

It is not an overly optimized build but will get the job done of getting in, shredding up a target, and getting out. Bonus if the target is an evil git.

Instead of the horizon walker class, you could take the item mastery feat that gives dimension door instead

How does Thunder and Fang even work? In the "Normal:" section of the description it says

Normal: wrote:
"An earth breaker is a two-handed weapon, preventing the use of a klar in one hand without imposing penalties for using the earth breaker one-handed.

But... You can't use a two-handed weapon with one hand even with penalties, can you? I thought it was, RAW, that 2-handed weapons HAD to be wielded in 2 hands?

As far as I’ve read RAW you can not use a 2 handed weapon in one hand. That feat is the only written source that indicates otherwise. I was just reading another thread that had debate about that line.
