Advice

Hows the Ecclesitheurge Cleric archetype for a pure caster cleric? Good? Bad? Are there better options for pure cleric caster?

I think the general consensus was it gave up too much defense for too little gain: Clerics can't overcome a lack of armor as easily as Wizards/Sorcerers, making you a much more vulnerable target while not increasing your spell power significantly.

I don't believe there are any real 'pure caster' cleric options: They are already a class with 9th level spells, so it's fairly difficult to give them a casting boost without breaking the game completely.

Thanks for the response!

As Taja said, they're already a 9th level caster, can't get much higher than that.
But I have to disagree with the lack of armor. Wizards/Sorcerers can't keep their AC on a competitive level for very long. Not that they need it anyway. It's not a problem for the Ecclesitheurge either.

With that said, the Ecclesitheurge is the most caster-focused Cleric Archetype.

You can get by with low/no armor casters wizards, sorcerers, clerics etc.

Grace, and Shield of Darkness help a lot. You also still have a D8 hit die which should keep you up.

I'm not super familiar with bonded objects but I think you could have bracers of armor for your bonded object. This would help the AC situation.

Silver Crusade

I don't think you can have bracers as a bonded holy symbol, but you can do an amulet of natural armor.

Thanks ring or amulet would be the choices if concerned about AC.
