Thank you both for the quick response. I only asked cause the dm we have for PFS is kinda ruff on pet classes as he never has played one and fights us on rules when it comes to them.
So if there is a reference in PFS that says that, I need it to stand on and rules lawyer the critters to safety. If not it's going to be a long line of pets going into the blender.

If the GM really hates pets AND either doesn't know the actual rules or doesn't care about changing the rules then you should SERIOUSLY consider playing a different character under this GM. Even though you're right and they're wrong
I've had pets with GMs who were somewhat hostile to pets (nowhere near as hostile as it sounds like this one may be) and it was a struggle to get them to do anything useful. A struggle that really wasn't worth the hassle. It made the game significantly less enjoyable for me even when I managed to convince the GM about the basics (for the record, I do not think that I'm anywhere even close to unreasonable in what I try and get my Animal Companions to do. I do NOT push the limits by having animals act like emotionless tactical geniuses)

Speaking as someone who is moderately strict on what pets can and cannot do I can vouch for this statement.

If you want something that might count as evidence for your GM then you could point him to the Bestiary Creature Types section which only lists undead and constructs as being destroyed when they reach 0. Ask him if he thinks all animals die at 0HP and if so why.
If you continue having an issue consider escalating things to your local VO to try and bring them back into line or, if possible, simply avoid that GM.
