Retraining mythic oradin to straight paladin

We're at level 8 mythic tier 2 in wrath of the righteous. I have four levels of Oracle that I'm thinking of retaining, since life link seems to be becoming very under whelming.

Is there any reason I should keep these levels?

Well, your first problem is you've only got half levels as a caster. EDIT: What I mean by this is that multiclassing rarely works out on a caster without a specific build.

What is your goal with the character? What do you want to be able to do?

Depending on your focus it is often best to progress spellcasting.

Sorry, I didn't explain appropriately. I'm already Oracle 4/paladin 4. I'm thinking of retraining my Oracle levels to paladin, so I'm paladin 8.

I have a pretty standard oradin build. Mythic gives lots of options to heal very well and the amounts of damage taken make life link pretty paltry. I'm just wondering if I'm going to miss out on anything if I drop the 4 levels of Oracle.

So you're looking for super-smites? Hit points? AC? Go paladin.

You will lose spells and Spellcasting, as well as oracle class features, but I'm uncertain if you wanted these anyway.

I'm front line melee, I went oradin to passively heal my party, and get access to shield other early. I don't cast many spells as it is, so I'm not real worried about that.

It seems like retraining my Oracle levels to paladin is the way to go.

4 levels of oracle? Nope. You won't miss out on much. You only need 1 level of oracle as an Oradin. That one level, getting Dual Cursed for Misfortune and Life Link (using a feat for Extra Revelation) is a very powerful combo, even at level 8 or 12. Misfortune is the lion's share of that at the higher levels.

Now, missing out on 8 levels of Oracle, that's the real question. You are getting to the point where you can lay down some serious spells while using move actions for channels to heal the whole group at once. Communal Resist Energy is the bomb!

Prayer
Communal Resist Energy
Delay Poison (immunity to poison, use with a rod of extend spell)
etc.

And then there is that 5th level spell that gives the party a favored enemy and favored terrain for 1 hour per level. Amazing!

Going paladin 8 is more self empowering with stellar self healing. Going oracle 8 is practically the same combat power as you currently have (less smiting), but it packs a lot more party empowering features.

I guess it depends if you still wanted that party helping feel to the character...

A rogue is the only other melee combatant, so I help my party best by being a strong front liner,I think.

Consider Variant Multiclassing for Oracle. You can get Life Link that way, while having all of your levels as Paladin.

Having GMed that campaign, go straight paladin. It is better for you and the party. The story gives you a lot of cool things.

No reason. Reactive healing is near useless in a Mythic game when it is a game of rocket tag. Either you kill them first or they kill you.

Going straight paladin is a much more effective especially with Mythic Smite allowing you to spam smite and most your targets receiving double damage on the first hit.

Another heads up, you'll want Mythic Vital Strike. And a Legendary Weapon. Later on you can get access to Domain Spellcasting via Divine Source. For better fun, combine that with Beyond Morality, to protect you from alignment changes. It also helps you if you don't want to be forced to choose the Good and Law Domains with Divine Source. Those are generally the most powerful things you can grab in any Mythic Campaign.
