...The Blorg? I mean come on they are naturally ugly to most species and there patron god Hylax, is all about first contact and diplomacy, also known as friendship!!! Must make my first Shirren named Wiz. Hay maybe the Swarm just wanted to be friends, and was just sending out friend ships to invite the pact world to a party!

Shirren are all about subverting the "insectiods are always hiveminds" trope. They're now enjoying the newly discoeverd wonders of individuality and free will and likely are quite pickled when somebody asks them "so you guys are basically, huh, like bees?".

And yet, they also subvert the subversion, in that they aren't the stereotypical opposite of a hive-mind, which is to say, a bunch of anarchic free-wheelers. They are still a highly lawful, highly social civilization.

Don't forget how they carry the little ones around to explore with them.

That one makes me a little queasy, in fact. Any TPK of a party containing Shirren has a good chance of including dead baby Shirren.

Also, dead baby Shirren may not be the worst possibility. Imagine the evil story possibilities if the enemies who killed the party decided to take the baby Shirren alive and raise him/her/them in a way that would horrify any surviving parents or Shirren society in general.

They *sometimes* carry their young, not always. I imagine high risk professionals don't make a habit of it.

The iconic mystic does. He/She/They're one of the two vials hanging off the belt.
