hi everyone, quick question, would a Arsenal Chaplain who took advance weapon training (focus weapon) be able to raise is weapon damage above 1d6?
Arsenal Chaplain stats
"The base damage of an arsenal chaplain’s sacred weapon does not increase above 1d6. This ability alters sacred weapon."
while advance weapon training (focus weapon) stats
"The fighter can deal damage with this weapon based on the damage of the warpriest’s sacred weapon class feature, treating his fighter level as his warpriest level. The fighter must have Weapon Focus with the selected weapon in order to choose this option."
i want to say yes they do work together because Focus weapon says it based on the scaling damage of the sacred weapon class feature, it does't say it is the sacred weapon class feature.
thoughts?

Advanced Weapon Training (Focus Weapon) doesn't do you any good since you don't have any levels of Fighter. It would operate as if you were a 0 level Warpriest.
If he took it as one of his Bonus Feats wouldn't he have fighter levels for the feat?
"Finally, for the purposes of these feats, the warpriest can select feats that have a minimum number of fighter levels as a prerequisite, treating his warpriest level as his fighter level."
"Prerequisite(s): Fighter level 5th, weapon training class feature."
I never says the fighter level is limited to just the prerequisite of the feat: "for the purposes of these feats" not 'for the purposes of these feats prerequisites'

There's going to be a lot of disagreement about this, but I agree with Graystone.
An Arsenal Chaplain warpriest can spend his bonus feats on Advanced Weapon Training and it counts as him having fighter levels.
Check with your GM to see how they want to run it.
In PFS Arsenal Chaplains aren't even allowed to take the feat anyways (last time I checked) so it doesn't really matter.

I read it as meaning that you only count as having Fighter levels for the purpose of meeting prerequisites. I see "treating his warpriest level as his fighter level" as specifically expanding on the statement about prerequisites rather than making a more general statement about Warpriest levels counting as Fighter levels. I could be wrong.
