Is it PFS legal to worship Lamashtu?

I've been going through the additional resources list for PFS and noticed something in the notes for Inner Sea Gods.

"all of the gods listed in the appendix are legal choices except..." then it lists several groups of gods. According to this list Lamashtu is legal.

But under miscellaneous it states, "all material in chapter 1 and 2 is legal except for pages 92-99."

Pages 92-99 deal with worshippers of Lamashtu.

Is this saying that you can worship Lamashtu but don't get any of the special stuff that pages 92-99 might grant (variant casting, etc.) or is it ruling out worshipping Lamashtu all together?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You can worship her but get none of the special stuff.

Lamashtu is legal from other sources, too.

Lots of mechanical benefits are illegal, tho.

I think it's a roundabout way of banning the deific obedience:

Lamashtu's deific obedience wrote:
Sacrifice an unwilling living creature in the name of the Mother of Monsters. Draw the process out to inspire the maximum terror and suffering in your victim. The death blow you deal should be savage and destructive—do not grant your sacrifice a clean death. Once the creature is dead, remove one of its bones and sharpen it to a point. Use the bone to cut yourself deeply enough to leave a scar. Leave the sacrificed creature’s mutilated form in the open where scavengers may devour it or travelers may see it and know of Lamashtu’s power. Gain a +1 natural armor bonus to your AC.

You can worship Lamashtu, but your character cannot be evil. Most of her benefit content has been banned likely because they require you to perform blatantly psychotic actions.

My Summoner's being doing it since Day 1. >:D

So can you be a cleric of an evil god?

"I doesn't know about this Lama-whats-it, but I is a priestess of the Holy Mama!"

Nana's a Separatist cleric of Lamashtu. Poor old Lamashtu gets hard done by compared to other evil deities in PFS. Kuthites, Norgorberites and Urgathoans get their variant spellcasting, but no baleful polymorph for Nana.

sure... happens all the time.

Also, you can run a Hellknight... as long as your PC isn't ACTUALLY Evil aligned, just Lawful/NEUTRAL.

Yes, but your character must be neutral instead of evil.

So if your god is chaotic evil, your only option is to play chaotic neutral.

Cool. Thanks. :)

For a Hellknight, even Lawful Good is possible.

There's at least one Paladin/Hellknight in PFS.

I imagine there are quite a few, I have come across several.

We serve where commanded. That is frequently within the Society.
