I'm playing a heavy Melee soldier and was looking over the weapons in the book. What am I missing about the Plasma Doshko, Red Star that makes it worth costing roughly 4,400 more than the Tactical Doshko.
I see that on a Crit it does a lot of cool stuff. But without being ablt to roll a 20 every time. I don't see what its giving you beyond a power requirement and a smaller damage die.
Help me see what Im missing here.

As others note, flame doshko don't have Unwieldy. Additionally, being purely energy-based they attack against EAC rather than KAC, which is an advantage.
So 1d12 but you can't full attack or make AoO, or 1d8 but you can, and have an effective +1 or +2 bonus to hit.
Don't forget the Crit effect.
