Unchained charachter in adventures

Advice

I don't know if this is the right session to post this thread.

In few months me and mine friends are going to start the new version of the curse of crimson throne and I wish to use an unchained class.
What I wanted to know is:
The NPCs used in that adventure are unchained?
After the pubblication of Parhfinder unchained all the NPCs in the succesive adventure path are the unchained version?
Actually is possible to use Dex on damage for the monk's unarmed strike?
Thanks

Given that Unchained was published after CotC, I would expect the NPCs to be Chained, although I am not familiar with this path. Your PC shouldn't stand out too much for that though.

Regarding Dex to damage, you would need an ability that specifically says you can replace Str with Dex. I am not aware of one for monks/unarmed strikes, but if it was my game, I would think about making a feat for you.

If you're at least UnRogue3/MonkX (or UnMonk) you can indeed get DEX to damage on your unarmed strikes. They're finessable and thus are a valid option for the Finesse Training feature.

or agile amulet of mighty fists.

The NPCs should come with stat blocks; that should tell you which class variant is being used, either directly or indirectly.

(Edit: DYAC)

I'm currently GMing the new CotCT and as far as I've thoroughly read (books 1-2), there aren't any unchained rogues. All of them thus far have a distinct lack of the unchained's class features. So, it's certainly not the default, no.

You certainly could always adjust the NPCs. I'd imagine changing them to unchained rogue would be a pretty simple conversion process. I've been considering it to make some things a bit more challenging for my players.

I remember hearing that Hell's Rebels listed stats for a rogue npc as both regular and unchained.
