Spell Perfection and how it interacts with the chosen spell

Rules Questions

Could someone help me out with the understanding of the Spell Perfection metamagic feat. For example how would it work with the spell Major Curse if used with Piercing Spell (ie. what would the DC be, new spell level, etc)

Presuming there are no other feats or effects in play here, the spell remains the same level as normal, keeps its regular DC, and the target's spell resistance would be treated as 5 lower.

Ohh, I guess I'm wondering then which metamagic feat would work well with it and then how would the spell work? Would you be able to give me an example if you don't mind.

Wouldn't that be "as 10 lower" because spell perfection

In addition, if you have other feats which allow you to apply a set numerical bonus to any aspect of this spell (such as Spell Focus, Spell Penetration, Weapon Focus [ray], and so on), double the bonus granted by that feat when applied to this spell.

I typically apply quicken spell, as my no cost metamagic feat. Then pile on a few more metamagic feats. Quicken Intensified Empowered Shocking Grasp is a 4th level spell slot, adding Reach bumps it to 5th to make it a ranged touch attack. Followed up with a second spell as my standard action. Not a bad combo.

When you cast a piercing spell against a target with spell resistance, it treats the spell resistance of the target as 5 lower than its actual SR. A piercing spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell’s actual level.

This is not a numerical bonus to your spell. This is a numerical penalty to the target of the spell.

If it said "add 5 to caster level checks made to penetrate spell resistance", that would be something you would double.
