Spell slinger Arcanist or Sorcerer Help

Advice

So I know one of the best ways to build a spell slinger is to not take more than one level in Spell slinger. I just don't know what class to go into next Sorcerer or Arcanist?

Side note: if you have noticed I'm posting everyday with questions its because I'm gearing up for a collage RPG club in the fall. As far as I know I'll be introducing pathfinder to them so I need to have a lot of things in place including Character examples for every role and at least two campaigns to GM.

Depends on what kind of spell caster you want to be in the long run. If you want to simply blast out as many spells as you can through the gun, a spontaneous caster will usually do it best, and the Sorcerer gets the most number of spells. Although the Arcanist has the best versatility out of the two, and you can pick up a bloodline with the Arcanist.

For myself, I'd actually do something with a witch and reach spell metamagic. The hexes can be quite helpful in debuffing and utility when you aren't using your gun all the time. If you want spontaneous casting, Ley-Line Guardian will suit you well.

Only thing to remember is that if you get a spell-like ability that uses ranged touch to connect, the Conductive weapon property on your gun will let you deliver that attack when firing the gun, in addition to the bullet/spell you've cast through it. The Havoker Witch gives up hexes for a Kinetic blast. I had fun with one of those.

I keep forgetting about Witches. I can see how hex's can be nasty.

Side note I wounder if you could do a Sword and gun Magus with arcane gun.

I always liked the idea of going arcane trickster with them.

Funnily enough, Oracle or Cleric are good choices too.

I like the idea of the spellslinger wizard 1 / nature fang druid X multiclass. You only need Int 11-12 given you won't be going beyond wizard 1, the nature fang gives you enough feats to do ranged combat properly (& studied target as per a slayer), and the druid spells include the weirdest things ever to shoot out of a gun.

Also an eldritch archer magus works very well.

If you specifically want an arcanist or sorcerer then (assuming that your GM agrees that blood arcanists can take bloodline mutations), a blood arcanist with school development (evocation/admixture) can make a great blaster.

Yeah I noticed that when I was flipping though stuff. I'm going to draft a Arcanist and a Magus build and see which the party needs, a caster or a fighter.

The pure caster Spellslinger approach lends itself to blasting, which is something that the Sorcerer does better than the Arcanist. So if that's your approach then Sorcerer is your option. In general, though, you take the levels in the opposite order. You start your career as a Sorcerer then take your 1 level in Spellslinger only after you can afford to enchant your firearm (since the archetype does very little prior to getting a magical firearm). I wouldn't recommend the Witch; its spell list does not give good synergy with the Spellslinger. Go with a Hexcrafter/Eldritch Archer Magus if you want to pursue that; same flavor, better crunch.

As others have mentioned there are lots of cool options here. I'm particularly partial to the Eldritch Knight and Eldritch Archer, which really put Mage Bullets to good use. I'll have to check out the Nature Fang Druid, since that sounds hilarious.
