Amplified rage on skald resolved?

Rules Questions

So had the concept of taking a bloodrager for a familiar and then go skald the rest of the way so when i use inspired rage my valet mouse would be raging with amplified rage...giving me +8 str/con...Last I looked into it skald vigor would only give me +2 healing at level 3. But has it been resolved that this is legitimate or is it still up to table discretion? (This is for PFS)

  • You are a Half-orc, or a Human/Half-elf/Sylph/Undine/Oread/Ifrit/Scion-of-Humanity-Aasimar with Racial Heritage (Orc).
  • You have Amplified Rage, from Orcs of Golarion (a source that doesn't have a "race restriction" clause in the PFS Additional Resources document).
  • Your Valet Familiar gains all Teamwork Feats that you have, including Amplified Rage (despite not being one of the aforementioned races).
  • Both you and your Familiar are considered to be Raging during your Skald Performance.
  • Your Familiar is presumably adjacent to you, sharing your square, or Flanking your opponent, so all requirements of Amplified Rage are met.

So you're good there. I don't know what "Skald's Vigor" is, though.

  • Skalds Vigor:

    Quote:
While maintaining a raging song, you gain fast healing equal to the Strength bonus your song provides, starting in the round after you begin the song. If you stop maintaining your song, the fast healing ends, even if the effects of your song persist.

Thank you for the definition Melkiador. So the question becomes what is raging song providing. Is it the hard +2 str or since amplified rage adds to it is it +6 str.. or since I'm taking the bloodrager bonus is it +8str or 0 or something in between

The strength bonus needs to be applied by the song, so I don't think the bloodrager bonus counts. The song just allows you to apply that bonus, but the bonus still comes from the bloodrager ability and not the song ability v

The feat modifies the bonus provided, so it would be sensible to say that they do work together. But fast healing 6 at level 3 is probably way too much. Don't be surprised if a DM manufactures a reason for this not to work.

It is for pfs so mainly looking for as solid ground as possible. Mainly level 3 is the iffy feat either power attack or skald vigor

Strongest Ground: you get the +2 the song provides. Fast Healing 2.

Pretty Strong Ground: Because of the wording "your morale bonuses to Strength and Constitution increase by +4" your bonus from the song is increaseing from the feat so the whole bonus is still from the song. Fast Healing 6.

Wet Sand: Becasue of this line:

    Quote:
If an ally has her own rage class ability (such as barbarian’s rage, bloodrager’s bloodrage, or skald’s inspired rage), she may use the Strength, Constitution, and Will saving throw bonuses, as well as AC penalties, based on her own ability and level instead of those from the skald (still suffering no fatigue afterward).

The bonus is coming from "her own ability" and not from the song so you are getting fast healing 0. You get +4 str from the bloodrage and that is then amplified so none of the bonus is coming from the song.

That is how I read it.

I used to like this build. I even started playing one. Then I saw 4 or 5 of them. I have not actually come accross any single build as much as this one. This might not be the case where you play, but it maybe worth mentioning.

    Silver Crusade

Except for the line "MAY USE": since offers a choice, then they can choose whichever, which would be the largest bonus most of the time.

@Grandlounge..honestly nobody even plays a skald here but then I only play every couple weeks. I like the skald but realized that a good number of people probably wouldnt take the bonus...but if I'm a beast in combat it evens out :) I need to make a new character and I usually come back to this idea but the interpretation makes me nervous

I wouldn't expect any worse than fast healing 2 at most tables. And really that's still pretty good.

Make little folded table cards with benefits and cost it will help people with the math and help them realize that hp and saves are important.

Once it gets up there in level I would think it would be hard to pass up getting rage powers, not to mention sharing DR with everyone doesnt hurt
