Interest Check - Vampire the Masquerade - Forged in Steel

Recruitment

Would anyone be interested in a PbP set in Gary Indiana/Chicago Illinois?

Camarilla Vampires only.

This would not be a long running campaign and would be set in the year 1992. I may even use second Edition rules instead of V20 to give it the old school feel.

I'd be interested. I have a limit of 4 games I run at a time and one of mine is about to end in a couple of weeks.

My ideal game would have 1 to 3 posts a day from the GM. I post a minimum of 1 thoughtful post a day.

Hmmm, 1 to 3 would be tough for me due to the large number of games that I run but as I am looking to run this short term I could probably do at least one per day.

How many games are you currently running and playing in? Just curious. :)

I am running 20 plus Recruiting for one more new one (not including this interest check) - you can see the list in my Profile :-).

I also play in 20... Huh, did not realize till now I played in that many but most are on a slow post rate.

I average about 20-40 posts per day so one or two more per day for this game will not make a huge difference.

Definitely interested. I'm flexible on clan.

How many PCs you looking for this time?

I will forever live in awe of the amount of games you're involved with, Shadow. I'm not quite in half that many and I already find that I sometimes run out of time to get to everything I want to in a day. And you never compromise on quality either, at least in my experience...

I'm potentially be interested, although I've never actually played any version of Masquerade, I've only ever dabbled in NWoD stuff with The Requiem and such. However, I've got a decent handle on how White Wolf systems work in general, so I don't think it'd be too hard to mess with it. If you get enough interest for a formal recruitment, I may throw in a submission.

No more than 7 and as few as 3.

Available Clans would be: Brujah, Gangrel, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue.

Unlike the current Venice by Night game, this would be canon. It will have a definite beginning (Modius' Party if anyone is familiar) and a definite end (which I won't say what it is as I do not want to spoil it).

PCs could be from Gary or from Chicago.

Also unlike the Venice by Night game, you would have to purchase Generation with Background points. You would also already be Vampires at the start.

Thanks JD!

Yes I try to keep quality high which is why some of my games have longer gaps than others between updates. I have found today to be a super busy board day or sure!

Standard number of freebies? Any starting XP?

Would a Gangrel with some sort of tie to Lucian (one of my first favorite VtM NPCs) be a possibility?

Whichever edition you choose is fine by me. I have 1st, 2nd, Revised, and V20.

No starting XP but I might bump up starting freebies to 21. I'll probably limit Merits and Flaws to 7 and 7 respectively.

Absolutely, Lucian will be an NPC that you encounter right out of the gate. Pick the right Generation and I may even make him a PCs Sire.

BTW Talomyr, how are you enjoying the Werewolf game thus far? :-)

The werewolf game is interesting, but I will admit I am having some difficulties (probably doesn't help that Erik way out of his comfort zone) I haven't played a lot of WtA prior to this game (I've always been more of a VtM, MtA, CtD player/storyteller).

Its a tough one to run via PbP as well but still fun. This particular mod I am running is probably even more brutal than I am running it as but I want the players to at least get familiar with the game before I start killing them with ridiculously overpowered foes!

Soon enough Erik will get back to a city, unless these guards shoot you all full of silver!

When you say not long running, just how short are you talking?

Six to fifteen months. Which is short for me.

Anyone else interested? :-)

Have you mentioned this potential game in your big recruitment thread? Might be worth mentioning in the Dark Ages game discussion thread.

Would you mind if I linked this thread in the discussion threads of a couple of my other games?

No I have not yet, I wanted to see if anyone new had any interest. Plus its not an official Recruitment yet. :-)

Feel free to link it if you believe some of your players might be interested.

I wanted to try VtM for some time, although I'm not sure I'll be able to create a character, since my studying has been a bit hectic lately.

I have loved VtM for ages and never gotten to play for more than a few posts. I'm all over this like something that's really all over something else!

It's pretty easy, I can assist there.

I too am interested.

Madcaster, if asked really nicely I can take a basic idea and turn it into a character for you.

I know this game system like backwards, and it won't take long to alter my character sheet to do a 2nd.

Follow the link above for the Official Recruitment Thread. :-)

If you are still interested and did not submit, follow the link above to do so. There are still two days left to submit a PC.
