PFS history of banned Elephants?

Were elephants always banned or does anyone have stories about how they they became bsnned?

Guessing they were too cheap gp wise for a creature with their stats or their 3by3 size were thought to be such a problem for many indoor maps that they were always considered too problematic? Guess the one combat animal rule for pfs is also an issue.

Are tigers legal for purchase these days?

Anything better than a riding dog, warhorse or riding lizard recomended as a combat animal. Not just a mount but a viabke combat animal worth buying and bringing along for fights? Even if thought of as a consumable since I doubt most would last more than one or two combats, especially the higher level the adventure?

They were always banned for being too large. Creatures that large are both too powerful and too cumbersome.

tigers were completely legal , but overuse lead to them being restricted for characters of level 5 and above

Animals on pages 14-15 are legal for purchase except dinosaurs and megafauna (unless already allowed in this document in Bestiary 1, Bestiary 2, Bestiary 3, or Ultimate Equipment) and dire animals. Additionally, only creatures of the animal type of size Large and smaller may be purchased. Goblin dog is restricted for purchase and only available to goblin PCs. Finally, a PC can only purchase an animal, mount, or similar creature if its Challenge Rating is lower than that character's level; creatures with a Challenge Rating of 1 or lower are exempt from this restriction, as are horses.

Did someone say band elephants?

If you are at least level 4 a Yak (uses stats of a Bison) make good mounts.

Lots of them, they have terrible table etiquette and they're always trying to make PVP a thing.

Elephants and Paladins. One of them had to go. Was it the right decision?
