Hello All,
I know using a allying cestus is not a new idea... But let's ignore the legality of that for a second. I can't seem to find specific answers for the following questions.
1) Can a character wear a cestus and wield a sword in the same hand, and attack with the sword without penalty (Y/N/GM fiat)?
2) Can a character throw shuriken from the same hand/arm that has a cestus on it, without penalty (Y/N/GM fiat)?
3) Can a character wear a cestus and grapple without penalty (Y/N/GM fiat)?
Thanks for your help and time.

When using a cestus, your fingers are mostly exposed, allowing you to wield or carry items in that hand
1)Yes.
2)Yes.3)Probably, but what it means for your hands to be "free" isn't completely described in the rules. Personally, I'd say the cestus hand is still free, but there could be an argument for the reverse.

as far as i know, the cestus just has ruling saying that it restrict skills that require fine motor control- like lock picking, or disable devise.
Benefit: While wearing a cestus, you are considered armed and your unarmed attacks deal normal damage. If you are proficient with a cestus, your unarmed strikes may deal bludgeoning or piercing damage. Monks are proficient with the cestus.
Drawback: When using a cestus, your fingers are mostly exposed, allowing you to wield or carry items in that hand, but the constriction of the weapon at your knuckles gives you a –2 penalty on all precision-based tasks involving that hand (such as opening locks).
So- yes to 1 and 3, and a GM may enact a small penalty to thrown weapons- as it takes more precision to throw a shuriken than it does to throw a hand-axe.
