My group is starting an evil campaign at level 5. I'm playing a cleric. I'm going to write into my backstory about having already animated something as a bloody skeleton. (Using the animate dead spell and desecrate, not the undead lord archetype)
So what I'm looking for is the best creature with up to 10 HD that I can have grabbed and reanimated. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How would you do that?
The bloody and burning skeleton variants are created using the animate dead spell, but count as twice their normal number of Hit Dice per casting. Once controlled, they count normally against the controller's limit.
Which would limit you to 5 HD creatures. If you can ignore that rule a young sky dragon would be pretty solid with magical flight and a bunch of natural attacks. If not maybe a 5-headed hydra.

Do you have a preference about creature type and size, and its role for the party? Animals, outsiders, humanoids...? Also, normal bestiaries, or is the Tome of Horrors allowed?
As a basic option, though, the Gorgimera could be interesting.
I can use anything that's not third party, My preference is something from the material plane. I don't know how outsiders would work but I always kinda figured they didn't have bones.

Desecrate brings it up to 4 HD per level, making my max 20 HD. (or a 10 HD bloody skelly)

I thought it was lawful evil energy in the shape of the physical form of bones. But I can't find where I got that idea, so oh well.

Hill giant dude. Large size, much strength. Can use great club and wear armour, etc. make sure to take Disguise undead or something similar, to avoid the torches and pitchforks. Enjoy the carnage. Take the spell Blood Money to offset the cost of creating it, and future abominations.
Is there a way a cleric can get bloodmoney?
