Hey guys, I love the kineticist class, its so versatile and fun you can make so many different things with it. (not to mention, its finally the base for a magic blaster every has wanted!)This time however, I am looking to make a melee based one that is well rounded and useful in all types of scenarios. This is the following build, up to level 9.
Race: Human
Stats- simple 20pt buy as its a same assumption
Post ability score adjustments
Str: 08Dex: 18Con: 18Int: 10Wis: 14Cha: 10
Feats:
1- Weapon finesse, Iron Will
3- Weapon focus
5- Combat Reflexes
7- Extra Utility Talent
9- ???
element- air1
level blasts-Electric Blast
Eventual Blasts-Water Blast, Blizzard Blast,Charged water
blast
Infusions:1- Kinetic Blade
3- Extend Range
5- Thundering Infusion
7- Kinetic Whip
9- Cyclone- (Yes, swarm me!, the other option was entangling infusion)
Utility Wild Talents:
2- Wings of Air (level 6 replacement)
4- Voice of the Wind
6- aerial evasion
7- Kinetic healer
8- Expanded Defense
By my understanding, this gives me someone, who, without magic items has-
Flight, period.
120ft range combat area (potentially 240 if I took air's reach)
Zone control with his deadly whip
Pretty Decent healing in a pinch
A decent AoE
Good HP
Good AC (thanks to water's defense granting 3-5 ac, and a high dex)
Great Damage with 2 touch attacks with his whip dealing his blast damage
Good scouting with Voice of the Wind/stealth/flight
Sure, he can't do it all :P but he can do alot, just looking for suggestions to help the build out and other ideas to that may be better than what I have thought up here. Thanks!

I don't see the prereq for Wings of Air? If you're replacing the prereq with Wings of Air at level 6, I don't think that works at least 2 different ways.
At 6th, 10th, and 16th levels, a kineticist can replace one of her utility wild talents with another wild talent of the same level or lower. She can't replace a wild talent that she used to qualify for another of her wild talents.
Basically you'll need to do without Aerial Evasion.
If you're after a good level 9 feat I'd suggest Expanded Metakinesis for Piercing Spell or Merciful Spell.

Like avr, I'm not understanding what you're doing to get wings of air at level 2. You can only replace a utility talent at 6 with a talent of equal or lower level, and you need one of the two pre-reqs for wings of air and need to keep the pre-req. Also, how are you getting kinetic healer at 7?
At level 7, if you're expanding to water then you don't get your infusion talent which means no kinetic whip at 7. Kinetic form is usually a staple if you're focusing on a melee build. Weapon focus isn't really required if you're going for all touch attacks, its much too easy to land your hits that the +1 is not needed at all, unless its for the water blast you'll be getting.

I made a mistake with wings of Air, I forgot about the "no replacing x prereq for X" like a scrub.
I got kinetic healer by the extra utility Talent feat at level 7...
Why do I not get an infusion at 7? It doesn't say that in the ability description.
Kinetic form is a level 5 talent, so I can't take it until level 10 at the lowest, but yes it is really nice.
the weapon focus is more for when I need/want to use the physical blasts, however if you have an idea for a better talent I am all ears!
I was considering Celerity, however boots of speed certainly make that easier.

The only class feature a Kineticist gets at level 7 is "Expanded Element" which gets you either:
- a new element along with one of its basic blasts and it's basic -kinesis
-or-
-you choose your own element again, get the other basic blast (if applicable) and then you gain an additional utility talent of your choice.
You don't get a new element and a new utility, you have to choose between the two. If it helps, think of it as basic [foo]kinesis as occupying your utility talent at levels 7 and 15, unless you pick an element you've already got.
