Nintendo made a stupidly low number of these things. My buyer tells me another round might be coming up in Dec., but it will also be stupidly low inventory so get ready to pounce if you want one. More to come.
My list of games:
Maniac Mansion
The Guardian Legend
Cobra Triangle
wallstreet kid
casino kid
paperboy
adventure island
Ducktales
Chip n dale rescue rangers
arkanoid
splatterhouse I&II
Marble Madness
jackal
metal gear
bionic commando

Battletoads wants to meet you.
battletoads wasn't difficult so much as it was poorly programmed in the name of making it harder. Iirc there is one part that NEEDS two players to work, otherwise you will NEVER be able to make it past. To me that's similar to intentionally making a game unbeatable in order to say it is "a challenge". That said, I COULD be wrong, again Iirc, battletoads could be a different gaming experience on different platforms.

Battletoads was awful - far more difficult than either Ducktales or Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers, both of which I beat on my own. 'Toads was too difficult, though not because of a programming glitch - at least not one that was ever notable to me - just simply from being too daggum difficult.
It was unfair, and (after a while) unfun and upsetting... but the game, as a whole, was more enjoyable than most games I never beat (like the horrid Eek! The Cat game) because the mechanics were pretty fun (except for that daggum bike scene... every fifteen tries or so, I'd get a little further - one more ramp, one more wall, one more whatever... ugh!).
Not even Ninja Gaiden or Adventure Island was that tough! I wish I could have beaten it, alas...

It's actually on my the list of things I asked my parents to get me for Christmas, so I might not have a whole lot of control in that...

Well if I get a tip on shipments you can pass along that info to them :)

Never played either of the Goonies games.
I remember Contra - I don't know if I played Super Contra. I may be wrong. Whatever it was: I liked the first one.
I'd love to hear Freehold DM's Nonsensical Song of Triumph (as sung by Freehold). :D

Double "yes" to Guardian Legend! I loved that game, and wish you could get it on Virtual Console. Am I the only one who misses the old Pro Wrestling, with Fighter Hayabusa, Starman, and the like?

The Nes mini is a neat idea. I would probably pick one up had I not other options for retro gaming. (I highly recommend folks interested look into the Retro Pie). The thing I find ludicrous is people trying to sell one on Ebay for $5K. Is there really anyone who is that desperate for one of them?
Can you give us some links to this Retro Pie please?

I'm not surprised at all. Ebay flipping has an old tradition behind it.

The Guardian Legend. I think I rented that game multiple times to finally manage to make my way through it. I think beating it was probably the most satisfaction I had in the NES era (though beating the original Castlevania was up there.)
Yeap, GL was a truly unique experience on NES. One thing I certainly do not miss, however, is writing down massive character passwords to continue my progress.

Thanks! I appreciate it!
I do have a question. Where do I buy the Games from? I no longer have any of my old games and I try to be as legit as possible unless there is no other way.

I completely understand where you're coming from on that, sadly for many of these there is no really "legit" way to get them, especially the older ones like Commodore 64 and Atari 7200.
I can point you to a site where you can find a lot of them, but you'll have to use your own judgement on whether or not you think it's okay to pull from there as it's a legitimate archive of these things but the practice of using roms is always a grey area at best.
Though if you want it PM me and I'll give you the address.

Am I the only one here whose childhood gaming memories were formed on an Atari ST? :D
Probably. We didn't get a family PC/computer until probably like '87-89. At which time I rocked all the Sierra adventure games....Space/kings/glory/police quests FTW!!!

Freakin 7th Saga. I legit beat that game(with the elf mage character and the robot); one of the toughest RPGs ever made.
I want one of the NES minis but it seems like I'll have to be super lucky. I can't hang around stores right at midnight/opening just in the hope some come in today.
I too would want a SNES mini. Hopefully the success of this one will make that possible, and hopefully they won't be quite as squeamish about making enough of them.
My childhood Nintendo Hard nemesis was Blaster Master. That game is tough. Never was quite able to beat Super Macho Man in Punch Out, either. Did manage to beat Castlevania on the original cartridge, was pretty proud of that one. I can beat Final Fantasy I without grinding, just taking random encounters as they come.
Right now I'm kind of jonesing to replay Metroid and Kid Icarus.
