So, a fun thing I like to do is make silly characters based off of silly concepts. I don't do it all the time, I have a fair share is serious characters, and some in-between, but when I go silly, I tend to go silly.

One silly idea I recently had was an investigator who's 'extracts' were candy. Same rules apply, I get no mechanical benifit, it's just that I eat candies instead of down extracts. That's led me to basically rebrand some spells as famous fictional sweets from throughout popular culture. I've done what I can, but I'd like to poll people and see what they can come up with.

Basically, I'm looking for 'magical' sweets from fiction that can be the basis for my extracts. Here are some I've come up with: if you have a better idea, or think of one I haven't, I'd love to hear it!

Mutagen-rumble ball (One Piece)

Heightened awareness- coffee cake (coffee bean is material component)
Cure light wounds- miracle pill mk. 1 (Princess bride)
Shield-???
Identify-???
Jump-Moon pop rocks (The Candy War)

Barkskin-Ironhide Jawbreaker (The Candy War)
Levitate-Fizzing whizzbees (Harry Potter)
Lesser restoration-Supervitamin Chocolate mk.1 (Willy wonka)
Firebreath-Pepper Imps (Harry Potter)
Cure moderate wounds-Miracle pill mk. 2

Fly-Reindeer Lolypops (Santa Claus the movie)
Heroism-Peak Performance Gum (Candy shop war)

2 people marked this as a favorite.

So, not an exact analogue for any fictional candy, but I think it would be kind of funny if your identify extract was a piece of gum which changes flavors depending on what kind of magical item you're looking at.

"Strong cinnamon flavor... little bit of apple here and there... I'm pretty sure that this is a +1 Flaming Longsword, everyone!"

FLY = FROBSCOTTLE

I'm sure Willy Wonka would have some good ideas for this too.

A cake with the words "eat me" on it, acting as enlarge person.

Oh, an eat me cake and a drink me flavored drink for enlarge and reduce person for sure. Unfortunately, my investigator is an oread, so I'm unlikely to get (or prep) those extracts. Though I do plan on getting infusion so I can pass my candies out . . .

You could take the Mostly Human Racial Trait, if you want to benefit from those extracts.

Yeah, but I wanted to play an Oread to play an oread. Plus I like the ability to be immune to a bunch of stuff that only effects humanoids, like charm person and dominate person.

Back on topic:
Disguise Self-Melting Pot Mixers (Candy Shop War)

Haste - Ecstasy Pill

Or is this too far from candy? :P

One thing that most people either overlook or simply don't know is that alcohol is a toxin. Makes it REALLY hard to drink an alchemist under the table.....

I'm trying to avoid drug references, although that reminds me, I was going to have haste be a bit of the wedding cake from we B4 goblins.

shield = Nintendo Legend of Zelda Shield Candy Peppermints in Tin?
identify = Candy Eyeballs?
fly or levitation = the soda pop from wally wanka's chocolate factory the first one

Anyone else thought of A Boy and His Blob when reading this? Where different flavoured jelly beans make the blob transform?
