We will be starting a Hell's Vengence AP soon and I chose to go with the Slayer. I have the character basically set up, but am struggling with feat choice and what to do for later levels.
We have an Anti-Paladin in the group and part of my concept is to be his 'follower' as long as the money stays good. The background will be a primal/hunter-centric upbringing in an orc tribe, so I am really going for a cunning hunter-vibe.
We have agreed that there will be no in-group fighting. We are going to play the first book and then we will decide if we will continue, so this could be a one-off.
We need a front line fighter, so I innitially considered a sword/board, but I am not quite sure where to go from there (two-weapon, single weapon, etc). Any paizo books are fair game, but the GM reserves the right to veto a concept or ability that is overpowered or useless (and I am ok with that). No homebrew.
Half-Orc Slayer1 (no archetype) (NE)
STATS: STR 16, DEX 14, CON 14, INT 12, WIS 14, CHR 8
SKILLS: Acro +6, Intim +5, Local +5, Nature +6, Perc +6, Sense +6, Surv +7
TRAIT: Finish the Fight (+1 to hit previously hit opponents; raised by orcs)
TRAIT: Savage (Nature as skill; +1 Nature/Survival)
FEAT: ??
WEAPON: ??
ARMOR: ??
So, thanks to anyone who takes the time to make suggestions.

If you want to go front line I would gor the medium armor, if you can afford it. First level feat for power attack or two weapon fighting, starting weapons either heavy shield and longsword, heavy and shortword or light spiked shield and longsword, depending on your feat choice and style preference.

Consider the Sczarni Executioner archetype, it should be pretty useful.
I'd go TWF Shield Slammer. It'd mean dumping your CHA to 7 to get DEX to 15, but it should be worth it.
Start off with TWF, then move onto Improved Shield Bash. At 6th level, use your talent to get Shield Master. Wait for a +2 belt of DEX to get Improved TWF.

I wonder, why isn't the anti-paladin the frontline guy? Also the question of sword and board vs two-handed or archery is defense versus offense. Plus , sword and board doesn't seem to fit the savage hunter vibe that much. It seems, you'd be better off for the anti-paladin to be the tank, and you to flank with him and deal massive damage.

One combo that might be rather appropriately thematic for a 'cunning hunter' Slayer would be to go Snakebite Striker Brawler 3. Brawler's Flurry lets you go Two-Weapon Fighting with a single weapon like the 9-ring broadsword (heavy chopping-action blade) whether you're carrying a shield or going two-handed Power Attack; and you can add additional TWF feats onto it by just manually taking them. Snakebite Striker is all about making Sneak Attacks right to someone's face. When combined with Slayer, you can feint while you move up to a target and then activate Study as an immediate action, gaining both Study and Sneak Attack on the strike even though you simply moved up and attacked.
On a build like that, you could get the 17DEX to take the TWF feats yourself so they aren't delayed by using Slayer Talents, and use your bonus style feats with Deception Style to grab things like Greater Feint and Two-Weapon Feint to keep the Sneak Attack damage flowing. Between Snakebite Striker granting Sneak Attack and the Accomplished Sneak Attacker feat, you can have a 3d6 bonus by level 6 that increases by another 1d6 every 3 levels. A simple move-up-and-strike at level 9 with your 9-ring in two hands could be dealing something like 1d8+22 +4d6 sneak.

Well, you can't go wrong with Seasons in the Abyss, especially War Ensemble. I love that song, and I'm not even that big of a Slayer fan.
Every time a slayer levels the song: Seasons in the Abyss should be played. Other acceptable songs are: Angel of Death, Raining Blood and South of Heaven.
We need an errata, this should be made official.
