Cheap magic items to get out of grapples?

Advice

My little, feat starved Hobbit archer needs help against grappled condition from time to time. What magic items help here?

The gold standard is a ring of freedom of movement, but that takes a lot of gold- 40,000. A cape of the mounteback is nice for Dimension Door 1/day but costs 10,800.

So what am I missing that would be cheaper to help my little guy out?

Potion of gaseous form, and Ring of Serene contortions are the fist two that come to mind.

Boots of Escape are what you're after.

Wand of Grease: +10 on Escape Artist Checks. Vest of Escape, +6 and stacks with Grease. There are Ioun Stones. An Ioun Stone that grants a +1 on 1 Dex-based Skill should cost something like 50gp.

There is a shirt that grants freedom of movement 1/day. I think it is called an unfettered shirt.

Salve of Slipperyness: 1000gp, +20 on Escape Artist Checks, +10 CMD

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Lesser Talisman of Freedom, 900gp for one use freedom of movement for 3 rounds whenever you are grappled, entangled or paralysed.

The Exchange

A friend with liberating command and you give him a level 1 pearl of power to always prepare it.
