Multiclassing Archetypes

Rules Questions

The Exchange

Can I multiclass archetypes within the same class?

The Exchange

You can mix it except the features replace the same features.

so fighter has archetype Two handed fighter and two weapon fighter.
You cannot take 2 levels of two handed fighter and then take a level of two weapon fighter. No multiclassing into the same class.

But if two archetypes don't trade out the same stuff. Like say two handed guy traded out armor training and two weapon fighter only traded bravery then you could be a level 2 two weapon two handed fighter.

Thanks, guys.
I think it mentions that in Ultimate Combat, but I couldn't remember, so I posted up here, and y'all did all the work for me! :)

The restrictions aren't just for abilities that are replaced. Any archetypes that alter the same class feature are incompatible (unless the alterations are to separate subfeatures of the same parent feature). It can take a little work to figure out if two archetypes stack. Often archetypes, especially the older ones, will alter a class feature but fail to explicitly say that the feature was altered. And sometimes writers lump class features together, but fail to mention that they are doing so. (Some Magus archetypes, for example, clearly alter Spells, Cantrips, and Spellbooks but only refer to Spells.)

The basic rules for stacking archetypes can be found in a number of places:

There are also a couple of important FAQ's.

Remember it isn't trade out, but alter or replace.

So adding something to a list selection blocks swapping out, replacing, and any other modification.
