Interest Check: Zeitgeist + Iron Kingdoms (Pathfinder)

Recruitment

Hi guys, how are you doing?

As the title says this is just an INTEREST CHECK currently so I won't provide any build rules and I advise you not to lose your time by posting any builds here... I won't even look at them, sorry.

Not sure if you are familiar about anything in the two parts of what I'm proposing so I'll explain:

The Iron Kingdoms: I must confess that I'm a bit suspicious to talk about this because I just love the setting. It is a steam-punk world created by Privateer Press that was once supported by D&D3.5 and that changed its focus towards war games with beautiful miniatures and recently got back to RPG but with a new system. Unfortunately there is no support for PF. You can check it out HERE. In my humble opinion, the scenario us just great and challenging.

The Zeitgeist AP: The Zeitgeist is a 13 volume AP produced by EN Publishing that takes the players from level 1 through 20, recently finished. I haven't read all of it but the reviews are pretty convincing about the quality of the product. It is settled in a different world that I'm not really familiar but that has a similar steam-punk theme. You can find more about it HERE.

"But why are you asking for an Interest Check?" Simply because it will take time and A LOT of work to do it. The Iron Kingdoms is a pretty 'peculiar' world that requires a lot of work to properly convert other adventures to it (lack of planes and outsiders are the most problematic thing) so I'd like to know if I'll have enough players once I'm finished! This isn't a thing for now since I imagine it will take me a month or two (or even more) to properly do it to at least a couple of the books... it would be really frustrating if I convert and run the first book just to find out that the second one is a 'no-match'.

For the small amount of time I'm on these boards (almost a year now), I've noticed that many players refrain from playing in different scenarios than the Inner Sea (I'm included in this group) so I'm specially worried. Another thing that troubles me are the small love for Homebrews in favor for the Paizo APs and even if this isn't technically a homebrew, it might look like...

I must also say that I'm a pretty exigent GM with my players and clearly prefer role-playing than roll-playing. If you are curious, here are the games I GM in these boards: GM Advocate's Hell's Vengeance, GM Frosty's Reign of Winter, and GM Toothy's Wrath of the Righteous. If you are curious about the building rules when this comes out, take a look on the rules I requested in my other games... it will be almost the same.

Just to make it clear, I'll use PF rules and those who post their interest will be in no better spot than any other player in the future... it will only dictate if I continued with this crazy idea or not. Thank you for your time nevertheless!

I'm interested, as the only thing which deters me is being unable to make a character in Hero Lab. It's become a permanent crutch, and I hate making characters by hand anymore.

As a player of Privateer Press's Warmachine and Hordes, I absolutely adore the Iron Kingdoms and know them quite well. It is perhaps one of my favourite fantasy settings out there. Consider my interest high. I usually go for APs on these boards because it's safer, but I would love to be a part of this. How far do you plan on going with a conversion? Just setting? Or classes, items, monsters, etc?

(I would still be in for Zeitgeist too)

Scarab Sages

I'd be interested in a run through the Zeitgeist AP. Looks good from the reviews.

As somebody who is 84.615% completed with playing Zeitgeist and already planning to run it for a different group, you need to use the Zeitgeist world.

I won't get into spoilers, but there are lots of very important major plot points in the AP that are intricately tied to the nations, and history, and organizations, and specific cosmology of that world. PM me if you want details. You could probably run some of the first third in a shared world, but a lot of the rest of it would simply not make sense.

Zeitgeist is the absolute best AP I have ever played in. Each module seems designed to raise the bar in terms of how amazing it is. I cannot recommend it enough.

I suggest running two games to scratch both itches.

Zeitgeist looks absolutely awesome, count me in. Also, I enjoy setting things not in the Inner Sea or just not in Golarion period; things get stale otherwise.

Thanks for the input Philo!

Since I haven't read too much of the AP yet I obviously can't argue with you thanks to your experience but even so I'd like to try it, even if I have to change a couple parts.

On the other side, I'm only doing this if I find a satisfying way for it to make sense... If not I'd let down both those that came for the AP and those that came in for the setting.

@The Pale King: I'm planning to also convert the races, itens, feats, spells, monsters, and some of the classes... I'll always try to find a satisfying replacement through the archetypes for a couple of them. I also plan to implement the restrictions of healing, conjuration, and necromancy spells.

Scarab Sages

Oh, as clarification, I'd be far more interested in Zeitgeist using the setting in it rather than Golarion.

I've heard really good things about Zeitgeist, so count me as interested.

Both interest me considerably...look forward to more info

Hello!

Having played the Witchfire adventures as they came out I admit to loving the Iron Kingdom's setting since forever.

No idea what Zeitgeist is but am happy to peruse the link and have a look and learn.

Count me in as interested.

Steam suits ahoy!

Count me interested in Zeitgeist. I've heard it's absolutely fantastic.

In a heartbeat. Rarely does anyone run steampunk games in any form, and Iron Kingdoms is super awesome even with the pivot to its own system. Zeitgeist looks awesome as well.

I'd be interested in this. I was involved in a Zeitgeist recruitment that never started the game due to the DM dissappearing. I would love a chance to go through the AP.

I love homebrews, unfortunately every one I've been in on here has died, some more quickly than others. I think what you see as lack of liking them may be more wariness of them shutting down.

Big fan of both the Iron Kingdoms, and Zeitergeist, though I've only played one session of that AP, and don't remember much about it. I just liked the general theme.

I'd be interested using Pathfinder or 5E. I read the new RPG rule books and was enthralled till I got to the "very Wargame like" mechanics, and decided I could never run/play that involved of a combat game... especially not in PbP.
