feats for your eidolon

Advice

from the basic books or what would be accepted in a PFS game. i am pretty clueless as to what to make my biped eidolon do. i wanted to do the intimidation power attack thing but that was shot down. my dm said just give the eidolon 3 improved natural attacks feats and sink all my evolution points into arms. while that might be the best possible option it does not fit with how i would want to make my eidolon.

anyways feats what three feats do you think are the most important for an eidolon from the basic book or what would be accepted in a pathfinder society game?

Look at the advice forum. There's the guide to guides and plenty of good summoner guides worth checking out. I flagged your post to move to advice.

okay thanks!

is there anyway an eidolon can get improved grapple?

Of course you can. Just take the prerequisites and you qualify for the feat. And of course it must have the appropriate appendages through evolution.

the eidolon does not use unarmed strike. wouldn't taking unarmed strike mess up an eidolon's natural attacks?

No, unarmed strike is just a feat tax if you choose not to use it.

And the Eidolon can have appendages that do not have claws. I think that would qualify as an unarmed strike if you must make use of the feat.

Foreheads count for unarmed strikes, type and number of limbs is not important.

You mentioned PFS legal, so is this an unchained summoner? I believe that is the only legal summoner for PFS, if so, what subtype is your eidolon?

no just a normal summoner. i don't see any benefit of making a unchained one. i will look it over i guess.

Unchained is easier to build, but weaker. If you are playing PFS it is required, if you just reference PFS for guidelines on the advice you want, then I wouldn't use unchained if your GM isn't requiring it.

Silver Crusade

My suggestions:

1: Weapon Proficiency Greatsword
3: Power Attack
5: Resilient Eidolon

PFS is only a requirement in what type of books they allowed to use.

my dm is allowing me to use a normal summoner. i have decided not to chose an archetype. he does not allow third party stuff.

feat wise the summoner is set its the eidolons feats i am having trouble with.

Liberty's Edge

That's so weird your dm vetoed power attack? That's the most basic feat all stregth based combatants are based on. Or did he just ban some other intimidate based feats?

You said something didn't fit with your vision? What are you imagining for your eidolon?

Silver Crusade

My previous post has an error - I think Resilient Eidolon is a feat for the Summoner, not the Eidolon.

no he vetoed cornugon smash and hurtful feats. i don't want a humanoid arm centipede monster thing (dm's suggestion) or an angel/demon/grim reaper based monsters(unchained's restrictive options). i kinda envisioned some sort of nature's fury sort of neutral kind of monster thing. with a half elf druid-esk/ish? sorta savage thing

PCScipoi i thought those were feats you would chose for your summoner

Silver Crusade

Weapon proficiency Greatsword and Power Attack are good Eidolon feats. It's better to get weapon use through a feat instead of an evolution.

Dark Archive

It depends entirely on what style you want to use. Manufactured weapons? Natural weaons? And either way, do you want to focus on one big attack or multiple attacks?

Single Manufactured: Weapon Proficiency and Power Attack. Greatsword and Falcion are the most popular choices, but any 2hander or even 1hander works. Consider Combat Reflexes if you use a reach weapon.

Single Natural: Power Attack and Combat Reflexes. Get a Bite and pimp it out with 1.5 Str Mod damage, Reach, Improved Damage (the feat and the evolution) and maybe Grab. An Amulet of Migjty Fists with the Impact enchant makes the Vital Strike feat line amazing. Weapon Focus is cool.

Multiple Natural: max attacks with Claws and Bite. Your 4 limbs can keep you at the cap for the majority of the game. After that, Power Attack and Weapon Focus (Claw). Also the evolution for elemental damage added to your natural attacks. The only wituation where I think an Amulet enchanted with Flaming or Frost or whatever is worth it.

Multiple Natural: impossible, as PFS bans Multiweapon Fighting.

Other than that? Iron Will and Lightning Reflexes are alright. Weapon Master's Handbook has a few fun options but you may not have the spare feats. Large Size evolution is amazing on every style but it does not resize weapons. Plan accordingly.

Bonus: Make a Multiple Natural eidolon. At level 9 grow some arms and buy a Large 2hander. Classic Eidolon max attacks do not apply to weapons. Enjoy shredding all the things. At Huge size you can still use a Large weapon as a "1 hander" and grip it in both hands. The penalty is negligible.

multiple natural attacks seems to be the route i am going to take.
