i would like him to be the best AoO character, with a good threatened area and with some cool way/utility for AoO
( I like dex over Str for flavour and int and cha quite good, always for flavour).

I'm not the most experienced character creator, however; the first level spell "Longarm" might help for your threat range! Gives you an additional 5ft reach, grab a wand of it or get it permanencied?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I would advise getting the Blue Scarf Swordmaster's Flair - once per day, you can swift action gain 5 foot reach with your rapier, and can do it again after that one free one at the cost of a panache. Gives you some nice reach - if you're willing to sacrifice the to-hit and damage, Enlarge Person would give you quite ridiculous reach. AoO can be made useful in a variety of ways, but given you're not going strength base,d there'll be an issue with a lot of them unless you get Agile Maneuvers - if you do, then you can Enlarge for the bonus to CMB and reach, swift-action Blue Scarf for even more reach (15 ft total) and then Disarm/Trip/ other ones like that.

Uhm.. not really super big thing here.. but it just popped in my head as being beneficial.

Rapier with mercy on it, and Enforcer feat would allow the AOOs to give a debuff of shaken, which lowers their ability to attack and lowers their saves-which would help your allies.

On a more precise not random note..
What kind of AOO do you want? Doing damage, stopping people from passing you, using it purefly for defending with parry/repost, comboing with normal attacks?

Be a kineticist with the kinetic whip infusion. Your damage will still be scaling nicely with the blast, plus you'll be able to add substance infusions for additional effects.

I thought a lot about kineticist, the water one since we are gonna play a sea campaign, but i want also to be the captain( no one of my friends seem to want to be the leader) so i need a decent cha for the social skill, maybe swashbuckler 1/kineticist x ca work.

I don't know what qualifies as "Best AoO Character" but I know a way to beef it up.

Take Master of Many Styles Monk, probably just 1 level; or two if you want Evasion and another free Style Feat(or substyle).

Snake Style and Snake Fang is what you want. Anytime they miss you, you make an AoO. You can do a lot of fancy helpful things with an AoO besides damage. You can then look at getting Ascetic Style + Weapon Style Mastery + Weapon Focus + Martial Focus, to then use your Rapier with your Snake Fang(and apply the abilities of Snake Style/Fang to your Rapier) instead of your Unarmed Strike, use it with your Stunning Fist instead of your Unarmed Strike, and any other Feat that calls out Unarmed Strike. Then look at taking the Stand Still feat... stops anything from going past you with an AoO. You'll essentially be stopping them and forcing them to attack you, which will only further make them suffer, and be slinging those AoOs and probably use all of them every round.

I typically don't encourage other classes to dip into MoMS... but I just love the idea of this combo.

Man, this build is practically begging to pick up Outflank and Paired Opportunists in my mind. Sadly, since they're teamwork feats, they'll rely on your party having them as well, which is a tad disappointing, but the results will be fantastic if you can talk them into it.

I suggest later on you get cut from the air and smash from the air, you might need the feat from weapon masters book that gives you fighter weapon training but attempting to deflect up to 5-6 ranges attacks a round is awsome

You can pick up eldritch heritage for the arcane bloodline and choose a valet familiar. Maybe a parrot.
