Hello everyone! I have a question for what happens in the event of a canine catastrophe. If a pet eats a chronicle, what are your options? My dog loves to take things and bring them to my room. Sometimes he also loves to chew on them and roll around on my bed. Most of the time they are safely in my backpack, but I set that one aside earlier in the day. When I finished my shower I found him like that.
Thankfully it was not so bad in this instance because the character died permanently. I didn't want to cut into my friends' gold for my own Res; so he was completely gone. The chronicle in question was just a blank one that says "DIED!" Still, this could easily have happened to an important character. I'm hoping the answer is not "scotch tape."

Contact your local venture officer or your GM if it was very recent, either can reprint your chronicle for you. Write down as much info as you can remember about the session to help that person track down your info: your PFS number, the scenario name and number, the date and location you played at, the GM and a few other player/character names at your table, and any specific boon or loot weirdness you can remember.
Most of this would be for an existing character, but for a perma-dead one you could really just write a note on the last chronicle you do have for him. Mostly you just need a reminder that he's unplayable in the future.

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm glad situations like this are salvageable.
Looking back at it now, he very well may have been framed. All the evidence against him is circumstantial. A proper doggy defense lawyer would have a field day! Either way, I'm not mad at him at all. He is very sweet. He's basically a giant (teddy) bear!

My cat steals dice and plays with them.
I'm pretty sure he gets all the natural 20's I don't.
Although we've only ever adopted dogs, I think all animals are wonderful. I did take care of my neighbor's cat one time while they were on vacation. It was super cool. Would have done it for free, but I got $20. Put it towards buying Persona 4 IIRC!
This is what happens when you don't give your animal companions their treats...
He gets scooby snacks, I swear! We just don't give him a lot because we don't want him to get a tummyache. Also he is naturally a very big dog, so we watch his weight to prevent health problems. In his case it's working out well. He's 6 but still energetic like a puppy. :)

the GM & VOs got you covered.
On a side note you might want to do a few training sessions to help the pet learn not to eat paper. It is a fun crinkly white thing that succumbs to doggie prowess. Don't wad up paper and use it as a ball as that just enforces the idea that it's an okay play material. Pets can be more scent based than their human companions.
other than that you might want to get him a PFS number as he's got one chronicle now... 8^)
