I don't need to look I've read C&D but Eh all the female super heroine costumes were pretty much like that. Look how much they toned down Scarlet witchs.
Also comparing it to an actual little kids show is pretty extreme. there is adult themes heck Tyrones brother was shot and killed by a cop and Tandy was sexually assualted and attempted suicde. Now i haven't seen "Teen tony stark" but you tell me is that the kind of issues they are dealing with in that show?

I gave up on it last episode. I'm fine with stories taking their time to explore the world and characters, but like pretty much all the Marvel shows recently, this one can't do it well enough to be interesting. I didn't really care for either of the protagonists and the plot wasn't interesting enough to make up for the boredom.

Sorry for threadsurrection 1 year later but I recently bingewatched this series as I had just subscribed to Hulu. I thought I'd give it an episode or two and really, to my surprise--especially after lurking on this thread--got hooked. The characters of Tandy and Tyrone were very well realized as were their families, and they addressed a lot of issues of abuse, addiction, sex trafficking, and social and racial inequity with complexity and care, all with a lovely veneer of nifty lightforce/darkforce action Marvel-style. I also loved the setting of New Orleans, and the triad of advanced physics-Catholicism-Vodoun (represented by Mina/the priest/Auntie & Evita) as means of explaining/understanding what was happening with the powers involved and also understanding that each explanation only went so far (although I understand that YMMV for some audience members with some of the spiritual themes, but I ate it up).
It DID, like many Marvel series, start slow and the second season also had a part around the middle where I really felt like they were spinning wheels/padding things out... but when they had plot movement it moved really well, and I thought in each season once they really started moving toward the end stage it was really interesting (with one exception at the end of season 2 where I did hit a "bored now" moment that fortunately passed shortly thereafter). On a lighthearted note, I loved some of the comic-referencing (and gentle ribbing at the pair's comic book origins) in the video game episode.
Moreover I don't think there was a single character I disliked and/or felt was pointless. I mean, there were nasty, smarmy characters who I would not want to know personally, but I thought every character was complex, well designed, and interesting. Again Tandy and Tyrone were awesome, and I applaud them for making me really care about two characters I probably don't have a lot in common with. The moms were both also awesome, I adored Brigid and, erm, Brigid, and I thought Mina was cool... and Ty's dad... and Auntie... and Evita... and even whatshisface Tandy's early boyfriend... and the villains were appropriately awful but also complex and human and interesting to watch.
It is definitely, while targeted toward young adults, an extremely mature show that deals with very mature issues like sex trafficking, and I have always liked a dose of real crime and its ramifications in my superhero stories, but also without getting gorey or graphic, so it was right up my alley.
If anyone's looking for something to watch while staying at home, I give this a recommendation.

I enjoyed Cloak & Dagger quite a bit, as did my wife. (She's never been a big TV watcher, and has a casual interest at best in the superhero genre, but she did give a number of recent shows a try: Agents of SHIELD, Supergirl, Batgirl, Black Lightning, The Gifted and Cloak & Dagger. For different reasons she eventually gave up on SHIELD, Supergirl and Batgirl.)
We were both bummed that C&D didn't get renewed for a third season. Stupid Kevin Feige.
Despite decades working in and with IT, I remain technologically backward in some ways: I have never subscribed to any streaming platform, so I haven't seen Runaways (or a ton of other stuff I'd otherwise have watched.) I watched S1 of both Titans and Doom Patrol once the DVD sets came out.
