Bad rehearsal, good performance. Everyone knows that.

I believe in you... LOL

I should get some books from library tomorrow.

I started reading "Sword Of Shannara"... And it's tedious to read at best. I don't think I'll finish it. I need something that read better...

I read it several times in the 80s. I enjoyed it then but don't think I would, now. What is tedious is plowing through the other books in the series.

I had the same problem. Ebon got the omnibus first trilogy for me a few Xmases back, and I couldn't even finish the first book. When I found out it was just basically a pastiche of LOTR (which I have also never been able to slog through to completion) it all made sense.

I hear the later books get more interesting and less Tolkienish, but I haven't been able to be bothered to investigate due to losing interest in the first few.

After yesterday's rant about my game's plot getting screwed around by last minute absent players I managed to restructure parts of it and make up the rest on the fly. My players seemed to have fun with it, though we had to skip the extended roleplaying segment with the Dwarves they encountered because of time constraints. I ended up having a better time than I expected in spite of the changes I had to make, so I'm glad I didn't cancel the whole thing like my knee jerk reaction wanted me to.

Great news, Cal. Glad you had fun.

Thanks, John. I admit I was sort of dreading it. I've always been the kind of GM who made things up on the fly about half the time, anyway, but there was a major plot point in the campaign that will have to be dropped in during an upcoming session.

I'm sure you'll be able to work it back in somehow,... ;)

Glad that both you and your players had fun! Thats what its about after all! :D

I really enjoyed Shannara, back in the day. ICouldnt tell you exactly why, I just really liked it.

Tried to keep reading all of the new series he has been spinning out lately, I think theyre just as good, I must have changed because I just cant get into them like I used to. :P

Maybe something about the characters and the way the protagonist ALWAYS developed by doing something,... stupid. Like I'm reading and just cringing going "But, NO one is that dumb!" ;P

Seriously, I think it;s just the writing style, some love that Tolkien-esque prose, and some want more,... lively,... descriptions. :)

I had a nice day of gaming followed up by something that gave me a greater appreciation of my mom's dog. 3-4 screaming kids under the age of 8. Trust me, after that and cleaning up their messes, dog pee is minor.

Just remember that a good dog is not doing it on purpose. My guess is that the pooch is stressed out. It still sucks to clean it up, but that might help out a bit.

Raining in Pittsburgh right now. Have another one of those headaches. :(

Oi yes,
Stupid weather changed down here. Again. (It does that. If you don't like the weather, just give it 10 minutes, it'll change) :P

Silly barometer dropped or raised or something and sent my sinuses into a tizzy. :/

Saw a meme somewhere, Winter got mad and stormed out of the room, but keeps sticking it's head back in the door and shouting, "Oh and ONE MORE thing!" :P

Rain, is that all, it's on day two of snowing up here.

Wait, I knew it was going nuts up north, I thought you were in TEXAS?!? :P

When the air pressure drops, I get a sharp, stabbing pain behind my right eye. Yes, where the tumor is.

Yikes!

Indeed it is. And I'm pretty sure I've come up with a way to put things back together to get the story line back on track. Now I just have to wait 2 weeks until our next session.

Just got back from the dentist. Had 2 cavities filled and a temporary crown put in until the permanent one comes in (I broke that crown in December). The numbing shots are wearing off and my face itches... on the inside. I may go insane if this doesn't stop soon.

Wisconsin, land of cheese.

Mmm...cheese.

Cheese is good with various types of Smoked Sausage.

Absolutely! *wants both now*.

If you thinly slice smoked sausage, you can put the sausage and cheese on crackers as snack foods. Let's see. For Smoked Sausage, I'd recommend smoked Cheddar. Along with a nice cold Lager Beer.

Yup. I eat sausage and cheese on crackers like that, too. Only I can't really have the beer anymore because of some of the 12 meds I take daily. I miss beer so bad.

What about the non-alcoholic beers like O'Douls or Coors NA?

O'Doul's I can handle. Coors NA I've never tried. But I think I'll pick up one or the other next chance I get. I do miss the taste of beer a lot. I wonder if they make an NA Guinness? That would make me very happy.

So with my mom being home, her dog now seems MUCH calmer and happier. I mean he's still a puppy...but at least now he's not constantly trying to get my attention. And the peeing in the house has stopped.

Enjoy.

Yay!!!!

My allergies have been kicking my ass lately. I blame the cats...

...and the pollen...

...and the weather...

..and living in the swamp, a.k.a. Savannah, GA.

The tablet version of XCOM - Enemy Within is pretty damn good. The controls are taking a bit to get used to, but it plays rather smoothly. Well worth the price.

Dangit.

Now I want some too! :P

(Beer, not so much. I don't really like the taste of beer.)

Now CIDER, I can put some of THAT away. With anything that can be grilled. :)

(Although, from what I hear, not NEARLY as much as a certain elusive monkey we may or may not have met,...) ;P

Wine may also be used.

One of my players who lives in a wet county is on the hunt for this. Yes, Arkansas has wet and dry counties. It's been my misfortune to have always lived in a dry one and had to drive 15 to 30 miles for beer or anything else along those lines.

Years ago I bought a house in Chili, NY. In the early summer. Next spring, the basement flooded. I was b*+#$ing about this to a friend of mine, who said "You do know Chili was built on a swamp, right?" :-)

That's how I feel whenever Daylight Savings Time rolls around; all that extra sun time. It burns us.

"Cruel, cruel Hobbitses."

*has nothing to feel cruel about* I do wish my mom's dog would settle a bit more...but the fact he's not whimpering all the time when I'm sitting down to watch the evening news IS a relief.

Also I need to find a cartographer to help me make my newest idea: A haunted House filled with haunts, daemons, demons, devils, and Cthulhu Mythos creatures that owned by a lich who soul is come due....

That sounds like a terrific set up.

That's me, Every morning.

<HISSS!!!> "It burns Master! It Burns!"

Doesn't help that I've been leaving the Stage at or after midnight all week so far, Stupid opera and it's needy lights/sets/musicians. ;P

Why can't they just ALL do it MY way, as it should be? :D

On the plus side, I manufactured a replacement pan for my dry ice fogger I inherited from a previous techie.

Dry Ice fog is the best! :)
