There isn't much of one for you from the sound of it as I'm guessing your commute + work time runs roughly 8 a.m. until 6:30 or 7 p.m. Quite a few things you can do online nowadays, but your initial DMV trip will be irksome in all likelihood, and you'll probably have to do two (one for your license, the second after emissions and safety inspections are complete re: registration of said vehicle). A goodly number of places are of course open either very early or relatively late in terms of day-to-day retail. Voter registration now is basically a check-box when you get your license. Check your municipal and DMV websites to get more current information since it's been a while from the last time I dealt with them.
Important-ish errands like bank runs, gov't stuff ... yeah, those're a hassle and a half on weekends or not even an option. I'd brace to eat a Saturday to deal with the DMV. While vastly improved from Ye Olde Days, it remains a chore on the weekends.

I'd start looking for gaming groups that you could help fill your weekends with.
There's a LGS three miles from me with open gaming on Sunday. Their website is a bit primitive but I've found this seems to be the norm for LGSs. Lord know es why, I mean, you'd think one employee at least would have some computer skillz....

They're too busy on MMO's to make a better site ;-)

DMCal, are you diving into some Grillin' Therapy this weekend? :D
No, it's my wife's birthday tomorrow and she has yet to tell me what she wants to do. I was actually planning on making one of her favorites, tortilla soup, but now she's saying she just wants to stay home with her dogs and do nothing. Her job has kept her extremely busy and on the road a lot this week, so she's peopled out. (Here's
an interesting tid bit for you -- although still married and have always gotten along great, we live in separate homes. I know, it's weird. But it works for us). Plus, her dogs and my dogs DO NOT get along with each other and since neither of us will part with our canine friends we continue to live separately.

There are 2 good LGS' in my little town of about 60k people (it's big for Arkansas, though) and both are pretty good. And in Little Rock and Jacksonville, Arkansas, which are both within 25 miles of my house) there are about 4 combined that have good reputations as decent places to get together and play. We used to play at the one in Jacksonville (they took over an abandoned Hastings store and they're frigging huge now with LOTS of gaming space and even 2 private rooms you can rent for you games). But I had to stop going to them as my night driving skills are deteriorating at a rapid level and it makes my anxiety shoot through the roof. I'm still friends with the staff there and keep in contact with them, though.

My most recent client just dropped their first single from the new album, with a special single cover I did for them (which went pretty smoothly, aside from Captain Colorblind making me go back and change all of the cyan to "teal" a month after the fact, and in an attempt to credit me for my work linked to my personal Facebook page in a press release). And... the song sounds really, really good. I wouldn't have agreed to work with them in the first place if they weren't one of the best bands in Central New York.
Townhouse Warrior - "So Left It's Right"
If you like what you hear, feel free to support their most recent musical effort. With the exception of their new lead guitar player (he's older, super chill, and knows what's what), they're just a bunch of rascally young goofballs, and they need all the help they can get.

A really bizarre occurrence happened to me
Right before I left WHOI, someone left a book called Straight On Till Morning by Christopher Golden on the leave/take pile. Although I am trying to pare down my books, for some reason I grabbed it.
I ended up starting to read it during my move and my first days working. The setting was the town one over from where I lived as a kid. The protagonist was my exact age. It is a coming-of-age horror story set during my coming of age!
Just a really bizarre frisson when the characters are seeing a movie in the theater I went to see The Dark Crystal in ten times. Or go to the local lake at the beach where I spent my summers.

As long as I can do the DMV on the weekend I'll be good. I am a very patient person. Waiting in the DMV doesn't bother me.
Yeah you are right on the commute, except it's 7-530. I went with the early flextime option, since, you know, four hour sleep thing.

Screw the haters, I don't care if it's not a concept album, or that it's not "real prog rock," this album is f++#ing amazing.
Sounds plenty like prog rock to me!
