I rarely get severe headaches. Last one was probably thirty five years ago, while I was on CINCPACFLT staff. Went to sick call. Nurse stuck a thermometer in my face. Came back a few minutes later, took it out, read it, looked at me accusingly and said "you don't have a fever!" I said "No, I have a migraine headache". "We'll decide that" she said, and sent me in to see the PA.
PA said "you have a migraine headache." "No s$++," I replied. He game me Fiorinal. "Go back to work and [i[then[/i] take two of these. I don't want you driving after taking them." "How 'bout I just go home?" "No, go back to work."
So I asked "Will these cure my headache?" "No, but you won't care." He was right. Twenty minutes after taking them I was floating about three inches off the chair. :-)
More recently I had need of painkillers again. Not a headache, something else. I told the doctor this story, and he said "I am not giving you Fiorinal." Party pooper. :-(

What a f~$@ing s%+% storm series of days. Record high followed by blizzard. The furnace craps out, my wife calls in a gas leak when the smell was really the start of an electrical fire in my daughter's room that we luckily manage to stop, then the dog has a mystery gash that he needs to go to the vet tomorrow to get stitched and anti-biotics for. And this has been an improvement from January....

it seems just like yesterday, that we gifted the son of a member of our gaming group with a players handbook on his 10th birthday.
but he really is already a man grown, 25, with a mighty beard and a blue-green mohawk.
his father had to leave our groupa few years a go due to work reasons - now the son has joined our gaming group

Wow tradition, pretty cool. My daughter and my friends children are all 8 and under. Interesting to see what the future holds.

It seems that I need a minimum of $2,000 more for this year... More if I need extra dentist care or other unexpected expenses...
Anyone interested in having a short novel written? A bestiary?
EDIT: That is a net value, with revenue tax it would be more like $2,500... :/

Apparently "creepy" is the common opinion for this monster...

Keep it in a fluid-filled glass jar to replicate the feel of a 1950's "B" movie ( Bad Sci-Fi ).

Yes, but does Brain-in-a-jar still have its eyes? I don't recall.

Undead psychic brain...
Is that where it went off to.
I tell ya, you animate one brain to fetch the paper and the little guy thinks it's king of the world.
Come along Fido.

tonight they try to defuse a WW2 bomb right next to the Autobahn I have to take to work :-/
I hope everything will go well, two years ago a WW2 bomb blasted a 20ft wide 15ft deep crater in that Autobahn and I had to go through Frankfurt Inner City for 2 weeks - no fun in rush hour traffic :-(
just last month a bomb was found in the river in Frankfurt but it was no longer able to detonate

Holy crap! Hope they diffuse it without incident.
I know in Vietnam they still find landmines all over the place. Not good!

Wow, They are STILL finding those things?!?
I would have thought (HOPED) they had dealt with the last of those long ago.
At least you can't say that your ride to work is boring! ;P
yes, there is not a month without a WW2 bomb found somewhere in Germany, leftovers from the heavy bombardments in the end-phase of the war
