I've been seriously considering it for years. A couple weeks ago I was looking for an old messageboard post and stumbled across me saying "Maybe this will be the year I go." That post was from 2011. I saw that and realized I had been saying for far too long that I was going to go "one of these years" and decided now was the time.I seriously considered it this year but I don't think it is going to work for me :-(PaizoCon 2017! It's on!I would sincerely love to go again, but don't see it anywhere in the cards for my future.

It started small in Lafayette, LA, and moved to New Orleans because they outgrew all of the hotels in Lafayette. :)
I can (Usually) arrange my work schedule where I can attend. I have some friends there running a couple of different games, (Star Wars mostly) that is where I get my face-to-face gaming fix since I can't get together with anyone on a regular basis here. :)

I should say - I understand that there are legitimate reasons someone who may wish to go would be unable to. I had no reason except inertia.

I am pretty sure that I had heard about Catherine the Great origins, the new part was her relationship with her mother*.
*for a moment while listening I thought that Catherine banned her mother from the Russian court after becoming empress, but nope, she was banned by Empress Elisabeth before Catherine took the throne - I was confusing two important Russian empresses. I suspect that Catherine didn't mind, though.
Re-watched a few movies and had an observation: Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen played a married couple in Godzilla, and then played twin siblings a year later in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Anyone else getting a weird Game Of Thrones vibe here?
Another (unrelated observation): I've just started my sixth playthrough of Mass Effect as a "new game plus," and it's becoming somewhat apparent that the gameplay is easier as a level 55 character on the second-hardest difficulty setting (Hardcore) than it is as a level 5 character on the easiest difficulty setting (Narrative).
