Sharoth and I are discussing the first Treeforticon. We are thinking swinging down to Savannah, then a meetup in Orlando for anyone in the Florida area. Anyone in the northern tier would be welcome for the ride. FHDM and Dave were interested iirc.
This is all in the embryonic stages, but you have to start somewhere. Anyone with any interest shout out and we'll start brainstorming. The timeline would be Spring Break, likely the mid-March time period. Probably a car ride south, for one week.
Old Wizard is in! :)
If you can swing by Louisiana or nearby.
(New Orleans is a fun place so I'm told. Hint.) ;PIf there is any way I can make it happen, I'm in!
It's on the list Rags... just likely not this trip :/
I'd like to pencil it in for Fall 2017 though! Big Easy is on my bucket list. Maybe Treeforticon 2017?
Yes!
As long as it's still on the list. :)

Patrick was in the same room as a zombie? Uh oh!!! Maybe there is more to this road trip of his than meets the eyes. ~pulls out my zombie protection gear~

Just remember Patrick...
The other day, I was going through an article that showed up in my Facebook feed. It was people's encounters with celebrities, and one of them was about Bruce Campbell. According to the story, when the person said "Hey, you're Bruce Campbell." his reply was "Well, someone's gotta be."

Memories light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories of the way we wereScattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were...
That was an awesome weekend!

That it was. I wish you could come out again

Why not? Because I barely have enough money to pay my rent and feed myself, much less afford convention tickets, plane tickets, hotel fares, and expensive hotel food.

Right there with you bro. I'm letting the universe help me out with the finances. If I stress too much about the deets I'd never go.

It's been my experience that the universe doesn't give a s!$& about anyone's finances. No, that one's on me. And right now, Magic 8 Ball says outlook not so good.

My experience this past year has been that a little faith works wonders. I bought the tickets. I have no earthly idea where the $450 for the room or the ~$500 for the plane ticket will come from, but it will happen. I have faith. I had faith when I went to NYC twice these past six months, and I have faith in our Spring Break trip.

That would be nice, if only to see some folks. From a gaming perspective, it'd be pointless.
Anyway, it's all besides the point - with no job, a cash drop like that is completely out of the question.

I ordered two paizo books today. Man, it seems like ages has passed.
Other than my AP subscription (which won't last beyond the current AP), I've dialed back big time. I was thinking about getting the new Pathfinder Tales novel by Knaak, but since I've got a backlog of (non-PF) books to be read, I probably won't bother.

I have not bought a rpg book in a year. no time to read it and enough backlock to DM through some years

You know, it is real nice being (sort of) in the black financially. Ok, ok. I am not really in the black, but it is still nice being caught up on all the bills and have some money left over. If I have another nice paycheck like this in two weeks, I might just be able to get my car fixed. I know that the wife will be glad to get her car back and to have the smell of dragon removed from it.

And now for your weekend safety brief:
If you drink, drink in moderation. Alcohol addiction is second only to heroin in the horror factor. In fact in some ways it's worse. Take it from me, I'm dealing with a couple really bad cases tonight. The DTs are a real sad thing to watch. Be smart, stay away from dosing your problems with liquor.
This has been your monkey PSA.
