Inquisitor / druid???

Advice

Hi all,

Is inquisitor with druid a solid option? At what level should the split be made? I want druid mainly for wild shape, so I was thinking level 4... Is there some nice synergy between these 2 classes?

Scarab Sages

They really don't make a good multiclass. They both have spell casting, and they both have really nice class features that scale with class level.

If you want to have something like a Druid/Inquisitor, look at the Nature Fang Druid, or the Sacred Huntmaster inquisitor.

I agree with Imbicatus. They're very strong classes in their own right, but they don't mesh together very well. The number of spells can be overwhelming together, and both of them get most of their power from level scaling. I mean, you can if you want, but I advise against it.

You could take an inquisitor with the Nature domain to get an animal companion at 4th level.

Generally it is better to remain a single class then to multiclass. This is especially true with spell casters. Each new spell level is significantly stronger than the last so while you may have more spells with two classes, you lose more power than you gain. Both of these classes also have a lot of level dependent class features so make poor choices for multiclassing. Of all classes these are probably the worst to multiclass with.

Nature domain will grant an animal companion, but be sure to pick up boon companion.

Thanks.. Bad idea haha :-)

If you want an Inquisitor / Druid, consider going Druid with the Gray Gardener PrC? :)

EDIT: In particular, going Urban Druid 6 / Gray Gardener X with VMC Inquisitor sounds both thematic and right-down nasty to track down..

Most of the hunter class could also be used for this concept. It's sad that so many inquisitor archetypes overshadow entire classes.
