How to hide weapons

Advice

Dark Archive

Let's say I want to conceal a weapon, say by magical means, what are my options?

How magical?

Spell?
Augmentation?
Magic item?

Do you want something you then have to hide?

Off the top of my head a bladed belt with the transformative property is really fun.

Just about any melee weapon you want is possible with that. Only 9,000 gp to start it up (+1 transformative and the bladed belt cost). 2,000 gp if you just want the belt which has some of the transformative property already.

More details ...
How long do you wish to hide the weapon? What sort of weapon? Who's doing the hiding? Hide from who or from what sort of search?

Invisibility, Shrink Item, Polymorph Any Object (non magical only), Sequester, Magic Aura, Disguise Self, Seeming, Secret Chest, and/or Nondetection might all be useful.

Sheath of Bladestealth, from the APG.

What do you want to hide the weapon as? Transformative lets you hide any light weapon as a simple dagger, any onehander as a club, and any twohander as a quarterstaff; Glammered lets you hide it as anything.

And what else do you have on hand? Are you hiding it on your body, or is this a pile of fifty battleaxes that have to get past customs?

The Shrinking property makes it easier to conceal large weapons. A Weapon Tattoo is a great (but expensive) option.

The Hide Weapon spell

Does it have to be magical? Because the Sleight of Hand skill lets you do it for free.

The Glove of Storing is a classic option for all occasions, and relatively affordable for mid-level characters. Quite low if you can craft it yourself.

Scarab Sages

You could also go high-tech, with implanted weapons. Most GMs avoid the technology guide like the plague though.

Retrieve item, apport item and treasure stiching are other spells which may be of use.

That's a good one that I had forgotten. Cast it twice on a pair of adamantine tekko-kagi and be Wolverine. :)

I can't say for magic, but I've heard that knives are easy to hide in somebody's back.

Go for a Hat of Disguise. Hide multiple weapons, pouches, and anything else you wear. All for the nice low price of 1,800 GP.

A weapon is an object, so you could be able to use invisibility + Permanency on it.

Though, this is a very money intensive prospect.
