Looking for a feat for a Cleric / Bard

Advice

I'm hoping something out there can help me out. My 8th lvl Cleric is going to take a level of Bard. I know, it's a waste…but there's a roleplaying reason to do it, and it's going to be fun. I don't mind the hit to the spell casting progression, but I am bugged about the channel progression. Is there a feat that will combine levels of the two classes toward channeling? 3.5 had similar feats, but I'm wondering if there's anything in Pathfinder that can keep me from losing the channeling progression. Anyone have a thought?

The all time favorite Evangelist Cleric?

There is an archetype: The Arcane Healer that gets channel energy but you would need to take 2 levels of Bard for that.

Scarab Sages

The closest thing I can think of is Channeling Scourge for Inquisitors. I don't think there is anything in pathfinder for cleic/bards.

I did look at Evangelist, but it's too late for that one. And the Arcane Healer still gives me the issue of losing level progression in channeling.

Yeah, I saw that and was hoping there were similar options.

I just may have to deal with the sacrifice. Thanks all.

IIRC there's a feat which lets the class levels stack for bardic music rounds and activation time. Can't think of the reverse.

What about Variant Multiclassing: Bard?

It gives you a bunch of nice Bardic Abilities, that actually increase with level, and so stay relevant.

It has better "fluff" in my opinion, as you want stay a dilletante bard forever, but rather have some bardic aspects.

You can't Variant Multiclass if you are already 8th level. You need to make that decision at 1st level, especially for VMCs that have 1st level alterations and implications, such as an Oracle, Witch, Monk, etc. At least, per RAW. RAI, the GM could handwave it.

That being said, I'm not sure he would want to spend half his normal feats to do that. It's not horrible, but is it really worth it?

May just need to take the hit then buy a phylactery of positive energy later

Also, look into evangelist and exalted-I forget which is which, but one lets you keep your class ability progression and gives you some intelligence flavor, much like a level of bard. From inner sea gods
