I imagine that after a few dozen post, it might be possible to hide a secret die roll in this thread from snooping players, but then again, if word got out that there was a secret die rolling thread, it wouldn't be much of a secret to anyone searching it for users who posted to it.

Maybe I just don't even get the purpose of secret rolls in the first place. I mean, when I spoiler a set of rolls, it's mostly because I needed to roll a bunch of stuff and didn't want to confuse my players with a bunch of dice that they don't know if they're supposed to do something about or not.
Trap Spotter (Ex): Whenever a rogue with this talent comes within 10 feet of a trap, she receives an immediate Perception skill check to notice the trap. This check should be made in secret by the GM.

The Appraise skill allows a character to accurately value an object. However, the fine arts of the jeweler, antiquarian, and bibliophile are complex. Valuable paintings may be concealed by grime, and books of incredible rarity may be bound in tattered leather covers. Because failure means an inaccurate estimate, the GM should attempt this skill check in secret.

If the GM is using the downtime system, both you and the other character must use downtime at the same time for this purpose. Only you make the skill check to complete the item—or, if there is a chance of creating a cursed item, the GM makes the check in secret.

The GM should roll a secret DC 20 Will save on behalf of the wearer each time the diadem is used.
Most people don't bother with it, but there are several places where the rules specify secret rolls.

I'll avoid looking at this when I start playing.
When I secret roll as a GM, I will just use actual dice.
Probably only when PCs are looking at a PC who is either a shape shifter or disguised.

rolling without the modifier? and/or without saying what you are rolling for?
Chance the stranger will show up and do something strange:12d20 - 11 ⇒ (12, 15, 15, 13, 10, 4, 4, 2, 6, 19, 14, 3) - 11 = 106 Nope he isn't sneaking up on you with a bag of squirrels, this time!
If one has common rolls that they often perform, I might suggest setting up a private campaign in Roll20, programming the rollset into a macro, and using the chat function for it. Totally possible to use the chat while being the only active player, and you can still refer back to it later.
