Magus Spellstrike and the Light Cantrip

Rules Questions

Hey Pathfinders

The Premise:
Light is a touch spell (with no saving or resistance).
Spellstrike lets the Magus use touch spells through their weapon.
It is also as a standard action spell, so Spell Combat lets the Magus do it as part of a full attack action.
I see no reason why it should not work.

The Fuzzy Part:
However...
1. Does the Magus "hold the charge" of the Light spell, like normal touch attack spells?
2. As light cannot be made invisible, could a character target the correct square when facing off against a "shining" invisible enemy?

The Motivation:
It is not a touch attack spell, so i am just not sure how this would work.
It feels a bit silly asking this, as though the answers should be obvious, but am genuinely not sure.
I am not interested if the Magus gets another attack, i am pretty sure they would, but don't really care either way.
Hope to confirm simply that the would work the way i hope.
If the enemy could provide the light to make it easier to fight them in the dark (or for Hellcat Stealth, sugoi).
I also like the idea limiting the effectiveness of enemy stealth.

Light is a touch spell, but you are only allowed to target objects with it. You could spellstrike and attempt to sunder an object I suppose.

No, a light spell would not make an invisible enemy able to be pinpointed, although you could probably get within a few squares of them (plus they could always just drop the object).

Thanks.
:)

Liberty's Edge

1) Touch attack spells don't exist. Any touch spell cast on an unwilling target is an armed attack, even if the spell is a beneficent one.

2) As CampinCarl9127 said, light only work on objects.

3) If someone is carrying an object that emit light you can pinpoint the square in which he is, but you are still subject to a 50% miss chance with each attack.

Use arcane mark instead if you want to spell combat + spellstrike

Light doesn't work with Spellstrike unless you're attacking an object. You're better off using Arcane Mark for that purpose (or Acid Splash, if you're silly and took Close Range as an Arcana).

Close range arcana specifies "Ray". Acid splash is not a ray.

Close Range Arcana and Ray of Frost works.

Still, as suggested above, Arcane Mark is the easy route.

I agree. Or Brand if you are a Hexcrafter.

Ah, I miss Brand. My Hexcrafter died just short of level 3. Then I made a T.H.O.R. (The Herald Of Righteousness). Eldritch Scion with a level of Elemental-blooded Sorcerer to make Frostbite (and everything else) 'god of thunder'-themed. Was it the best T.H.O.R.? No, but plenty effective when I needed it to be. The only annoying part was my main shtick, Frostbite(Electric), was worthless vs robots. How's that for a season...
