What campaign should I run for my players?

Advice

Hey guys!
I have a group of four looking to play a social heavy campaign that I would run on the weekends. The group is comprised mostly of pathfinder newbies and I'm at a loss of what campaign to run.

2 of the players are already involved in anther game I run.( rise of the runelords)
1 player has already beaten rotrl and played up to the second chapter of wotr.
The last player is a total pathfinder virgin.

Help me paizo community, Your my only hope.

Custom campaign?

Maybe suggest they all play nobility/courtesan types.

Suggest Bard/Rogue classes.

Have religion and religious figures play a major role in game (the machinations of a holy order vs. the ruling family can be fun).

Asking for detailed character backgrounds is a must, and for a game like this, I would recommend having character creation take place while everyone is sitting together.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

If you're looking for a pathfinder AP I would suggest Council of Thieves.

Council of Thieves Spoilers:
It's a campaign that takes place entirely in a metropolis and has plenty of opportunity for you to have interactions with NPC's with which you can build heavy social interactions if you're okay with putting in some extra work. Also, book 2 (The Sixfold Trial) is just spectacular. The only concern I would voice is that it does enter some dark territory at a few points in the campaign.

That sounds exactly what my players want. Also what do you mean by "Dark Territory"?

Only problem is thats a 3.5 ap right? Do you know any tools and resources for conversion to the pathfinder system?

I think Council of Thieves is the first AP they wrote to the Pathfinder RPG, actually. Though I could be wrong.

Scarab Sages

Social and intrigue heavy? Hell's Rebels!

It is updated to pathfinder rules.

Skull and Shackles has a surprisingly large amount of social elements

May I recommend Carrion Crown? It felt like a wonderful participative tour of Ustalav and they may enjoy the feel of a Gothic-Horror campaign. I expect others' experiences to differ from mine, but I felt that it was also a lower-threat campaign that would be suitable for players new to Pathfinder.

I also agree with the Council of Thieves recommendation. Currently running Book 4 of that AP in a two-player campaign and my friend and I launched it two weeks ago... we are burning through the books as fast as I can draw the map and drop in enemies it feels like.
