I'm a little lost on where things are shaking out. Is there one game? Two? REcruitments or is there enough interest here that we will use whoever has chimed n to this point? Ack! I need clarity! lol.

At this point I think two games would be great but I don't know how we are going to do recruitment. kyrt-ryder would know better than me.

If you're planning on running a game Sam, my suggestion would be to initiate a Recruitment thread like this one, including a note on which AP you're planning to run [I recommend an AP because they're the best 'start to finish Published Paizo experience' available] and a note that you're only accepting Cleric characters.

Then provide a link in here to that Recruitment Thread.

If we are running two games maybe the GMs should play in each others to help out

good idea

All clerics could be interesting. Hope you go forward with this.

i believe we are, just got to get the adventure paths picked

Well I but in my 2 cents as far a AP's go.
1. carrion crown
2. Wrath of the righteous
3. hell's rebels (only if using unchained skills for more skill points or expanding the list to include Inqusitors ect. )

I think you can make clerics work for any AP but it might take more work with some.

You offering to GM or looking to play Ranger?

I hadn't really thought about GMing and have never done it with pbp. However, I see there are a bunch of experienced GMs willing to help/mentor so it would be the best opportunity and environment to learn/start. Let me give it some thought.

No problem GR, give it some thought and make a decision. On the subject of GMs....

... are there any GMs making recruitment threads?

i am still trying to decide on an ap

Are you deliberating between any in particular David?

was thinking wotr maybe skull and shakles or kingmaker

Hmmm, the very best challenge would probably be Wrath of the Righteous sans Mythic powers for the PC's [dunno how much homebrewing would be required to cancel Mythic's weird 'automatically conquer non-mythic foes' stuff.]

I'm pretty neutral on Skulls and Shackles vs Kingmaker. The first is probably skill heavy and will challenge the cleric crew in that field in the first few levels, while the second is rumored to have fairly slow adventuring days that enable casters to better nova.

You leaning towards any of them in particular David?

no I'm not

I'm up for playing in an all-cleric AP; which AP would influence what kind of cleric though. Will keep an eye on this and submit an entry as and when.

I would, but I'm not good at using these forums yet.

As for an AP, I'm thinking Hell's rebels or WotR.

plus i got to find a copy of the ap

Let's start voting on APs. I will put the main ones suggested below; please leave a post saying which one you would like to see me or david barker run.

- Wrath of the Righteous
- Hell's Rebels
- Iron Gods
- Skull and Shackles

My vote is split.

Wrath of the Righteous IF used without Mythic

Iron Gods if WotR without Mythic is too much work on the GM.

Iron Gods here.

Why don't you like Mythic? I could modify the mythic rules if you want.

I think the reasoning here is that the AP is much too easy for mythic characters to present them with reasonable challenge.

Nah. I could care less about challenge. Easier campaigns just mean less chance of losing a character I worked hard on.

For me it's partly because I started this thread for the sake of an experiment and Mythic is a massive game-changer that invalidates said experiment.

Well, I do love buffing monsters.

Iron Gods, because I know very, very little about it and want to to smite these metallic heathens.

So far we are leaning towards Iron Gods. Remember, we will have at least to games going and we are going to do different APs.

The Exchange

I also would vote first for Iron Gods "ray guns for the gods" is just to good to pass up IMHO

Exactly, Sarenrae demands you see the light...of this arc plasma fusion cannon...

Well, Iron Gods (like Skull & Shackles) also has its own patron god—Brigh.

(Clerics would be hard-pressed to find enough feats to take Exotic Weapon Proficiency and make use of it, though...)

That's what Half-Elf is for.

You mean half-elves, who get one feat *more* restricted than the one humans get?

The main problem with an all-cleric Iron Gods is that nobody will actually be able to use the majority of the plasma cannons/grenades/etc., and you'd wind up with a party of mostly traditional clerics in an unfamiliar setting.

So we pick up EWP if we like a weapon, then retrain later on if we want. No biggie.

I might make a house-rule to help with that. Dunno what it would be though.

I know I wouldn't see any need for a houserule if it were my own game, but an extra exotic weapon proficiency feat here or there really shouldn't ruin the experiment entirely.

If there's a weapon that's really important for plot or overcoming weird specific enemies the Cleric already has an answer to that starting from level 3.

Bestow Weapon Proficiency.

By level 11 [earlier if the exotic weapons prove to be REALLY important and somebody takes Extra Traits: Wayang Spellhunter and/or Magical Lineage] that spell's coming off as a quickened spell when needed.

I know I've never liked the weapon proficiency rules. I might make Technologist into a feat tree that allows better tech crafting and proficiency.

Alright, I am down for making a cleric who acts like a bard and I personally know you can cleric like a thief (trickery) for the right god and get disable device as a trait, and I also know you can smack face hard w a front line cleric. Personally no Iron Gods for me too futuristic. Let me know and I will post a character post haste

If you don't want IG, could you suggest a different AP?

Grand Lodge

I still like the idea of Kingmaker as I have seen it played and played some. MOst of the others I have rad but not played. Save Skull and Shackles I have ran and played in that one.

But Iron Gods is cool with me

Clerics have always been my favorite class; they are (or can be) as diverse and thematic as the gods themselves. Might build a character for this. What books/resources are open?

The Exchange

Honestly for me I am running a KM and playing in a KM and it and RotRL are the two I have had maximum exposure to.

As for IG...its not like you can't use a weapon you aren't proficient with, its just hard. Besides I think there are ways around that, as already mentioned. I just like the idea of the futuristic *pew pew* with a bunch of holy folks.

nobody ever mentions Council of Thieves. Was it bad?

I always wanted to do Carrion Crown and I bet that could be fun with a bunch of clerics.

Jade Regent? That could be sorta funny. Clerics go on to install a new ruler. What could possibly go wrong.

Mummy's Mask? Giantslayer?

I mean there are like 13 of these things to choose from. Obviously having the material is a restriction too.

It seems to me IG has gotten the most traction so I think unless we want to get caught round the mulberry bush picking an AP it would be best to commit and just navigate the challenges...

I'm hoping the GM's allow All Paizo Material, but thus far none of the GM's have initiated a recruitment thread as far as I'm aware.

I've GM'd Carrion Crown, and an all-cleric party would be a cakewalk through half of it. Sorta like playing Rise of the Runelords where every character is a ranger with Favored Enemy (giant).

I sorta figured based on what I have been exposed to. Horror's not as horrific if you are a troupe of "my deity say be GONE" types.

I havr played skull and shackles, run serpents call, and now playing shattered skull, and I have a huge desire to do kingmaker, but I will play where I can play since I gm a mack daddy ton, and I love me some cleric and will make it to fit party needs

Still gotta say, Skull & Shackles seems the most *hilarious* for a party of clerics...

One cleric drinks a lot, the other preaches sobriety.
