Unusual Pathfinder Races

Advice

I'm looking for character races with bizarre physiology. I'm specifically hoping for something nonhumanoid (the actual definition, not the game definition) or with tentacles. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about a specific race with a nonhumanoid physiology (because that would negate critical hits) unless you're talking about pathfinder's version of the warforged. If you were to take sorceror and take the aberrant bloodline you could GROW a tentacle and your physiology WILL change, but I'm guessing you already have a class in mind and just want the race.

There's a playable plant race from (I think) the Inner Sea Bestiary. They are humanoid shaped, but they all have the ability to take a seed of themselves and, if they die, regrow as they were when they planted the seed (that's the gist, anyway).

Not a vast change from humanoid in terms of body shape, but in terms of mortality, we're way different from human now, I'd say.

Might be what you're looking for.

I'm fond of Puddlings, an intelligent ooze race.

Also, Merfolk are, well, merfolk; Kasatha have 4 arms; Trox are Large insectoid humanoids with grabbing appendages and apparently mandibles! But no bite attack

That entry for the Ghoran says something about delicious race trait but I can't find any info on what that's supposed to mean and I'm dying to know (as in stats wise what does it mean as well).

Delicious (–1 RP): Ghorans take a –2 penalty on Escape Artist and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple against any creature that has a bite attack with the grab ability.

...because they're delicious.

Great taste is not a survival trait.
Select against it!

Use the Race Builder to design a grindylow (actually less powerful overall than lizardfolk, apart from not being humanoid)? Granted, the aquatic subtype makes it less useful for most campaigns.

I've seen people start threads about how disturbing/uncomfortable rape or magic aided rape is in their games, but I'm kind of curious how the ghoran character would feel waking up from a sleep spell to find his party member friends eating him alive.

Liberty's Edge

well, another of their abilities involves growing goodberries, so the precedent for snacking on a fellow party member is already there.

Reminds me of these . . .

There's always the Ponyfinder campaign setting. If you're not set on Golarion, anyway. Griffons of Everglow expands the campaign setting further. There's also a series of small racial books available that are about to be compiled into Tribes of Everglow.

The entire premise of the setting is to play sapient magical ponies, griffons, winged cats, and more. The default humanoid races exist, but they are not the main focus.

(This setting existing is the major reason I got into Pathfinder.)

Do ponies comes with the delicious trait? I never tried pony before.

They look like their meat might be chewy.

Actually, humans made sure not to take it.

I mean...have you seen how little muscle we have compared to bone for our size? We aren't big juicy zebras here.

It is one of our many advantages- even though our women and children are so slow and weak, predators just usually try not to bother with us... unless they are desperate (most man eating tigers actually have broken teeth, and as such they can't hunt their normal prey).

Of course, our tendency to eventually murder everything that preys on us is a factor as well, of course. But I think it is mostly the poor meal thing.

Odd that's the ability score changes are different from this one, though they site the same book:

I've played Ponyfinder in Golarion several times without much issue. The First World is a mysterious place, and disgorging another fey creature, which ponies are, is hardly impossible.

Grippli are fun (think poison dart frog race). Grab the Agile Tongue feat and use Sleight of Hand (Tongue?) from 10' away! They have a climb speed and poison glands as well. I had to make a Grippli Alchemist, of course.
