Hi!
I'm trying to make a spy character for a game that I've been invited to and looking for some help with what could be good in terms of feats and skills. When it comes to classes I've decided to aim for Rogue (Spy) 5/Assassin 5/Master Spy 10.
Any help or thoughts would be hugely appreciated ❤
First off, do not take assassin. Assassin is a trap, and if you want to have a death attack, be a Ninja or a Slayer. They both have better assassination abilites than an assassin and will not reduce your BAB, Saves, and hit points to take it.
How do Ninjas and Slayers get a death attack? :x
Also, taking one level of Vigilante from the new play test will be useful, so that you can completely seperate your adventuring and spy personalities
Can't use any sources that aren't fully published, I'm afraid.

the Grand Hoax advanced rogue talent would be very useful to you, even to the point that taking the Charlatan archetype would be worth it to get it early(or at all, given your build). Being able to spread a rumor and have it be accepted as fact throughout a city can give you a massive amount of weight to throw around in a more Social RP campaign.

Ninja and Slayer can take Assassinate as a Talent at 10th level.
It takes longer till you finally get it, but overall staying pure in one of these classes is overall stronger then going into the Assassin PrC.
Giving this a bit of a bump, 'cause I didn't really get any actual help about skills and feats which was what I asked for, not what classes I want to use :(

Well, you need a Hat of Disguise (itself disguised as a cigarette case), a knife, the ability to make a Death Attack, the ability to turn briefly invisible, a tailored suit and a Galtish accent.

A friendly suggestion - don't be snotty to people giving you advice, particularly when it's really good advice.
Can you play a Kitsune? Realistic Likeness is amazing for any spy.

For skills bluff, stealth, perception, use magic device and disguise are obvious ones to max out. You will also want some ranks in disable device (it's embarrassing to be stopped by a locked door), linguistics, diplomacy, and possibly some knowledges & appraise.
If you're going to use stealth in combat then hellcat stealth is a useful feat. If not ... What's the plan?
