Want to be a pirate in a high fantasy setting? Then hop aboard and let us go on the grand adventures through the Ever sea. Where fortune, fame and danger awaits. You will be pirates aboard the Crimson Stella. It's not the best ship in the sea but it has character and a pretty decent crew... Though an upgrade here or there could be wise.
I am looking for four to six players and a post rate of within three days. The game will run on the D20 Pathfinder system. With the usual class and race options.
You will be level 2 characters.
A bit more detail on the character creation and background would be nice... like, are we pirates, or privateers? Is 3rd Party Content allowed? (Path of War's Buckneer template would be amazing here...), how many points do we get for ability scores? Is Unchained being used at all?

Pirates. I did actually make that clear it says up there you are pirates...Now your other questions are fair and the answers are. Yes you can use path of war stuff. 20 point buy. Unchained background skills. As for more on the setting it is a world covered in 90% ocean there is one large land mass roughly the size of Japan called Erethir. Along with many smaller land masses spread about. Your characters currently are on a small five by eight mile island called Pelco where you were recruited. The giant Erethir is divided into four kingdoms, the northern, eastern, southern and western. The north a mountain filled terrain that is ruled by a very selfish an spoiled young king. The East holds the worlds largest city called Rukijo it is ruled by a power hungry queen. The south is covered in many forests and is ruled by a even tempered queen. The west is covered in grassy meadows and stone fortresses and is ruled by a paranoid king. The ocean itself is very much still a mystery and you will have to discover it's secrets yourself.
This is a world where the racism between races has calmed heavily. So a kingdom could comprise of many races and have for example a dwarf king. Speaking of which, the king in the north is in fact a young dwarf named Gret Tuckmire. The east is a human named Mio Takahata. The so queen to the south is a forest elf name Jathal Tessara. While the north is ruled by a human named William Rockmend. They do have some ships patrolling the ocean nearest them. But for the most part Ever sea is a free place to do what you will.

What have we been recruited to do? That's probably the main thing that leaves me a bit stumped.
Also, it's usually a good idea to post how people should generate wealth, stats, hit-points, that sort of thing.

Could you explain how ship to ship combat will be handled, as well as personal combat on a ship will be handled, as this will affect what kind of styles will be viable as a pirate.
I might be interested in this.
not really sure what class i would play, i might give path of war stuff a try. I figure they probably have really good options for mobile melee fighting.
or i might try some kind of gunslinger.
