Creatures with magical flight?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I've done searches and looked at websites, but I can't seem to figure out which creatures have magical flight. I assume Genie's do, but I can't find anywhere it specifically says they have -magical- flight. To be clear, I'm looking for a creature I can turn into a skeletal flying mount. Any recommendations?

You can argue that you don't need the ability to specifically say "magical", as any any flight ability that is classed as (Sp), (Ps) or (Su) is magical by default.

Generally speaking if a creature has wings it does not have magical flight.

The problem is that most creatures that fly do not state what kind of ability their flight is. The Bestiary just says that flight is either Extraordinary or Supernatural, but doesn't specify which creature has which one.

I had never noticed this, now I see the problem. It seems like the Bestiary assumes that something being (Ex) or (Su) will be either clarified in the creature's entry or is otherwise defined in the Glossary. That's definitely a problem. How has nobody noticed this oversight before?

Wings = Ex.
No wings = Su.

Pretty much that.

Some things have wings that seem clearly too small to do the job, or are too large for any wings to really work. I tend to assume they are also (Su). But that doesn't clear things up at all....

Just look at their bestiary picture. If they don't have wings, and aren't made of air, than it's magical flight.

The artists are not aerospace engineers. Not everything will be anatomically viable.

Just assume physical wings = extraordinary, though as mentioned above gaseous creatures (air elemental, etc) would have extraordinary flight because they move through air like we move over land.

Here's a secret... Practically None of the the winged beasts, dragons, pegasi, work, being that their mass to lift ratio is way too high.

Science is meaningful in this game only to the point where it gets in the way, which is when you tell it to go sit in the corner until it remembers how to behave itself. So if it has nice big visible wings, ignore the science and pretend they work the way they look like they do.
