If you're focusing solely on maximizing CMB at level 5 to the detriment of other things you can probably get it pretty high.
More importantly, is to look at what the average CMD of things that are CR 5 to 8 are and see how your fair.
Based on this the average CMDs are 22 and 28. So you probably want a +18 CMB or so to have a 50% chance against a CR 8 and a 80% chance against a CR 5 enemy.

How often do you need a high CMB? Because I think the king of spike combat maneuvers is still the magus (spell combat true strike is hard to beat until higher levels). It also works with any combat maneuver you want.
I swear there was also a way for a bloodrager to cast a spell on themself when entering a bloodrage (or maybe it was warpriest and fervor?) so that's another way to do spike combat maneuvers.
