Where IS the map?
I'll put this link in the campaign info thread too, but here is the map.

On this map, you moved quickly through 1 and 2, into 4, looked in 5 finding the silver hammer and the skeleton, and fought the darkmantles in 10, then came out through 9 and are now standing in the hall or in 7. You have not gone into 6, but just looked in. You have not gone into 8 or the northern part of the complex. Hope this is helpful.

"Well, this room is empty except for the cringing kobold hiding underneath the bed," the more muscled twin quips.
"Please, come out--we won't hurt you," she says to the little creature in a more friendly tone. Turning to her friends, she asks them, "Does anyone speak...koboldese?"

Hennie takes over where Liv leaves off.
"Yes, there's no need to worry. We're only sheltering here briefly and we will soon be on our way. You've nothing to fear from us."

"They speak Draconic, the language of lizardpeople and the true dragons. I know it, Liv. Lemme try."
Gimble moves to nearby the kobold and squats down, offering out some food.

"This is Gurtlekep, everyone. He says he is the last if his brood. A clan, or group. Or something, I guess. He wants the crow in the other room, so leave that be. Also, he says the mushrooms might be near the fallen tower.

"He seems like a nice enough fellow. For a kobold, I guess. There's at least two more groups of them in the area, the Truescales and the Bloodscales. I bet we'll run into some if them soon enough."
Gimble backs out of the room, leaving the food where he dropped it.
"I dunno, last of his tribe, living in this big place all by himself. If he were a bit more friendly, I'd say we invite him along. But I dont think we could trust him, not for long, anyways."

In common, from under the bed comes a voice "Bye now ... okay bye-bye byeeee now .... bye-bye."
You are clearly not welcome here.
Among the mess of birds bones and fetishes on the other bed you see a ruby about half the size of an eye and a bunch of coins.
"bye-bye fast now .... bye-bye."
That seems to be the limit of his knowledge of Common.
Gimble Strapfellow
Does it appear that Gimble could swipe the ruby on his way out? Or perhaps the stone & the coins?
Hendrina Verkirk
Hennie only undertsands the little bits and bobs Gimble decides to translate from the conversation. But her heart goes out to the poor lonely kobald. Nonetheless, as soon as the kobald points them toward the location of the mushrooms, she is completely ready to move on without giving a single thought to bringing the little reptile with them.
When he emerges from his hiding place, she gives him a broad smile and asks Gimble to "tell him 'thank you' for directing us to the mushrooms".
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Any decent Sense Motive check would reveal he is desperate, in the way that an animal backed into a corner is desperate. He is willing to die to protect what is his and had forgotten he had left it on the bed. You may not be an expert on kobold physiques, but now that you see him in the light, he seems old and wiry.
Hendrina Verkirk
Hennie's smile fades. "Well, I guess we'll be on our way now. It's been a pleasure to meet you." She's uncomfortable enough to forget the kobald probably can't understand her.
Gimble Strapfellow
"We should be on our way, if we dont want a fight. At least we learned where the mushrooms should be."
Gimble backs out of the room, hands away from his knives.

To get to the tower, you can cross through the yard or walk down the corridor marked as 11 on the map. Which would you take?
Note the map is now in the campaign info tab any time you want it.
In case it affects your decision, the carcasses of the landsquids seem to have been dragged out through the big doors you came into the building through and back out into the yard. A trail of the ooze that passed for their blood shows which way they were dragged.
Hendrina Verkirk
Hennie agrees wholly with her twin. "Here here! Let's get on with it!"
She starts toward the courtyard, too many nasty skulky things around in the buildings.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Gimble Strapfellow
"Sounds good. Hopefully no more wolves are kicking around. If they are, they're being awful quiet like."
Gimble heads towards the fallen tower, stealthy and crossbow at the ready.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 stealth
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 perception
Tarren the Dungeon Master
As you move to enter the courtyard, it's hard to miss the sound of the kobold running at full speed down the hallway behind you and then up towards the area you have yet to explore (Areas 13-16). It's especially hard to miss him as he's shouting f in draconic: "Alarm, alert!! The thin-skins are coming!"
He rolled a 1 on his Stealth check.
Rushing through the courtyard in the dusk last night, you did not notice the skeletal figure leaning against the old well. A dented helmet falling off his head juantily, he looks like he could be napping against the well, just sunning his old bones and ragged cloth.
The trail of landsquid ooze and body parts leads through the courtyard, past the old well, and then back into the monastery near the door leading to the tower. (Area 12).
Hendrina Verkirk
"That little twit!" Hennie exclaims is disappointment.
"We should hurry and be on guard, I doubt he's yelling to nobody in particular."
Hennie continues on toward the the tower.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Gimble Strapfellow
"Oh, right. Hes certainly betraying us and telling the rest of his kobold friends were here. If you see a scaly faced little liar again, just stab it."
Gimble seems very disappointed in the betrayal, but keen on the chance to take some retribution if possible.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
As you approach the watchtower, you can see landsquid juices spread on the walls. A single tentacle lying on the ground suggests the possibility that someone tried to paint with one of them.
The watchtower is crumbling and the lower floor is open and exposed and broken. It shouldn't be long before the entire tower falls as it would take an experienced engineer to rescue it now.
Thick webs cover much of the ancient crates and barrels stored inside the base of the tower. A rickety wooden staircase ascends along one wall to reach an open trapdoor above.
The two landsquid corpses are lying on a pair of crates as if they were thrown there.
Livlena Verkirk
"Hmm...those webs seem to indicate the possible presence of a giant spider in the area, yet...the idea of someone painting the walls nearby...with landsquid tentacles, no less...would seem to suggest this area is safe," Livlena reasons aloud. "But then again, from what we've seen of our first kobold, they don't seem to be a particularly smart or wise race. Let us proceed with caution."
Liv looks around for threats and/or mushrooms.

Livlena returns to the others, showing off the short sword. After a moment's consideration, she offers the blade to Scipio.
"As an apology for making that rather dreadful joke about eating your horse friend?"

Speaking of horse friends, did you bring him into the big room with you last night or leave him outside with the wolves?

Honestly, I thought about that myself but decided that asking, "By the way...did your horse get eaten by the wolves last night?" would spoil the whole apology thing. :)
Scipio_Valiere
Thank you, much appreciated...I'm more of a mage than a swordsman actually. if anyone else wants it they can use it. Scipio smiles and accepts the apology, Problem with growing up noble, you don't get many choices for friends
